‘Chicago PD’: Halstead’s Conflict With Voight Comes to a Boil

by Joe Rutland

Things between Jay Halstead and Hank Voight are getting hotter and hit a boiling point on Chicago PD. So, what’s going on here?

That’s what we are going to get to the bottom about here, Outsiders.

Let’s get some help from Matt & Jess about this storyline. Jesse Lee Soffer plays Halstead while Jason Beghe plays Voight.

The recent episode that was ending the show’s fall season definitely had a lot of detail.

Voight is the head of Intelligence and Halstead has to figure out how far he will go in his role.

So, Halstead didn’t sell Hank out to the FBI as they are working to make heads or tails of this Roy Walton murder.

‘Chicago PD’ Episode Shows Halstead Taking Some Matters Into His Own Hands

Halstead, though, did get dirt on the FBI’s agent that is leading this investigation. He turned around and used it on that lead investigator.

So, Jay was giving clear indications that he could ruin the FBI man’s career. Also, Halstead provided enough info to send the agents searching in another direction.

On Chicago PD, Halstead is asked if he really wanted to be this type of cop. He probably didn’t like crossing some ethical lines to get what he wanted. But he did what he felt that he had to do right now.

Yet Jay let Hank know that he’s going to be “handling” some situations in his own way.

Voight has the direction Halstead will be going in the future. Will this work? Chicago PD fans will have to wait until new episodes pop up in early 2022.

They will run on Wednesdays as the One Chicago franchise returns in those timeslots.

Soffer Offers Some Indications on Why Halstead Is ‘Suspicious’ of Upton Marriage Proposal

Before this season kicked off on Chicago PD, there was a question around Upton making a marriage proposal to Halsted.

Tracy Spiridakos plays Hailey Upton. So, what happened here? This didn’t fall together as planned.

Soffer talked about this with TVLine. He said that Jay has loved Hailey for a long time. But he was not expecting the proposal. So, he says that “his Spidey sense starts to go and he’s a little suspicious of…she’s acting strange.”

The actor said that there’s “some heaviness” going on. Halstead might have to snoop around some “to get to the bottom of what’s going on.”

Soffer added that Halstead needs to “figure out whether or not this was motivated by genuine feeling or by something else.”

“There’s some heaviness, and he might have to do some snooping around to get to the bottom of what’s going on and figure out whether or not this was motivated by genuine feelings or by something else.”
