‘Chicago PD’: One Star Once Appeared on ‘Law & Order: SVU’

by Joe Rutland

Actors will get roles on shows before their breakout happens. Well, a star on “Chicago PD” once had an appearance on “Law & Order: SVU.”

Who could that be? We’ll pass along the answer from an article on Looper. Patrick John Flueger appeared in a Season 5 episode called “Families.” Flueger, who plays Officer Adam Ruzek on the Dick Wolf-created “Chicago PD,” played Aidan.

He’s the boyfriend of a murdered girl. “Law & Order: SVU” labels Aidan as a suspect. But DNA evidence shows he’s not the father of a child the dead girl was carrying.

They’re not giving up on Aidan right away. Now, Aidan’s father is found dead. Dad did not approve of Aidan being with the girl. All of these deaths make it look like Aidan did it.

‘Chicago PD’ Actor Didn’t Take Part In Murders On ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Episode

Is he the perp? Nope. “Law & Order: SVU” took us for a ride, only to get someone else in connection with the murders.

Aidan finds himself without his best girl and a family. All he’s going to do is try and be present for his brother. He, too, lost loved ones.

What about Flueger’s Adam Ruzek character? He’s been in nearly 150 episodes of “Chicago PD” and popped on other series in the “One Chicago” franchise like “Chicago Med” and “Chicago Fire.”

You can watch Flueger play Ruzek on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. Eastern, 8 p.m. Central, on NBC. Also, “Law & Order: SVU” is on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. Eastern, 8 p.m. Central.

Flueger Really Did Something Crazy For A Season 9 Episode of NBC Show

Before we get out of this “Chicago PD” story, Flueger found himself doing this very one thing that felt crazy after doing it.

What is it? In a minute. Television episodes are usually shot in order but specific scenes might be filmed out of sequence. For whatever reason, “Chicago PD” dumped that episode order.

Do you understand, Outsiders, when Flueger comments on Season 9’s season premiere being “crazy.”

“I didn’t actually find this out in the first episode, which was actually the second episode,” Flueger told Starrymag. “We shot the second episode before we shot the first episode. I feel like nobody knows that, and it’s a crazy thing that we did.”

If you think that’s crazy, well, get in Flueger’s shoes. He thinks that he’s working on the premiere, only to discover that he’s in the second episode.

Talk about confusing. Well, “Chicago PD” is part of the “One Chicago” empire created by Wolf. Now, “Chicago Med” and “Chicago Fire” are the two other shows in the threesome. Catch them all on Wednesday nights on NBC.
