‘Chicago PD’ Alum Sophia Bush Looks Ready to Compete in Official Trailer for Her New Show

by Joe Rutland

Sophia Bush of Chicago PD fame looks all geared up and ready for her new role in a CBS midseason show called Good Sam.

Outsiders, we will get a little more information about the show from TV Insider.

Bush plays Dr. Sam Griffith, who is a heart surgeon and takes on a leadership role as chief of surgery. She does this after Dr. Rob “Griff” Griffith, played by Jason Isaacs, falls into a coma.

Months later, Griffith wakes up demanding to pick up his position right where he left it.

We’ve picked up that trailer for Good Sam. Take a look at it, Outsiders.

Well, the show’s official description says, “Sam is tasked with supervising this egotistical expert with a scalpel who never acknowledged her stellar talent.”

Here’s another twist for the Chicago PD veteran.

The situation on Good Sam gets even dicier as Griffin is Sam’s father. According to the synopsis, he is defying “Sam’s authority and challenges her medical expertise.”

So, the question becomes “whether this father and daughter will ever be able to mend their own relationship as expertly as they heal the hearts of their patients.”

Other cast members include Skye P. Marshall, Omar Maskati, Davi Santos, Wendy Crewson, and Edwin Hodge.

Catch Bush, Isaacs, and the rest of the Good Sam crew starting on Wednesday, Jan. 5, at 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. Central, on CBS.

‘Chicago PD’ Star Talks About Marriage, Shows Off Engagement Ring

So, Outsiders, if you have been hoping that Sophia Bush would be gung-ho for her roles, then you would be right. Yet pardon the actress’s recent interests in another item: marriage.

The Chicago PD star is officially off the market while showing off her fantastic diamond. “Leaning into this happiness,” Bush writes on Instagram.

In last Tuesday’s post, Bush gave her fans all the feels as she posed next to her soon-to-be husband, Grant Hughes.

Bush, who found fame on the CW’s One Tree Hill, casually shows off her diamond ring. And Hughes appears to be overtaken with affection as he kisses his fiance on her cheek.

“So it turns out that being your favorite person’s favorite person is the actual best feeling on planet Earth…,” Bush writes. “Thank you to @comoclassicboats and @bottega53 for helping my favorite human plan the most incredible, moving surprise of my life. My heart. It bursts.”

Bush and Hughes started dating in May 2020.

Bush had grown close to her on-set mother over the years. In fact, she considered Post to be a real-life mother figure. And in an Instagram post, Bush posted a tribute to the Hearts Afire starlet. Post died after battling cancer in August 2021 at 70 years old.
