Like you, Chicago PD fans, we’re waiting for the wedding between Hailey Upton and Jay Halstead. The actors who play them offer a preview.

That’s right, Outsiders. Tracy Spiradakos and Jesse Lee Soffer, respectively, talk about this event in an interview with TV Insider.

When asked if fans would be getting a celebration with the rest of the Chicago PD unit, they replied almost in unison.

“I don’t think so,” Spiradakos said. “Doubtful,” Soffer said. “Outlook not so good.”

Spiradakos replies, “Yeah. They see it in the next episode both wearing rings and they put it together. I can’t remember who sees it first, if it was Voight or I think it was Atwater [LaRoyce Hawkins].”

Then Soffer chimes in, “I think it’s Ruzek [Patrick John Flueger].” Spiradakos said, “It was Atwater, and he’s like, ‘Wait, what is happening?'”

Chicago PD star Soffer follows up and says, “It’s literally the next morning and we’re wearing rings.”

So, this Dick Wolf-created show, part of the One Chicago franchise, just wrapped up with the winter finale. It will be a bit before new episodes air on NBC.

‘Chicago PD’ Star Spiradakos Talks About How She Feels Playing A Cop

Yes, Outsiders, Spiradakos plays a cop on Chicago PD. She said that the role helps her “learn different things every day” about how a real-time police officer job works.

The actress talked with AwardsDaily in 2019. Spirirdakos said she’s learned quite a lot about technical situations and walking around possible intense conditions.

“We have an incredible tech supervisor who talks to us about things,” she said, “[that] we could be thinking about going into an interview or approaching a situation tactically going in to clear a room.”

Actress Had To Prove Her Worth As Upton On NBC Police Drama

The IMDb listing about the show has Walt Smith as a technical adviser on the set. Spiradakos said Smith gets her to look around the corners and see “going into the headspace of what you want to see.”

Spiradakos considers Smith a “great and valuable asset” and credits him for her daily learning.

While the actress has worked her way into viewers’ hearts, she also had to prove her worth as Upton.

Spiradakos, 33, has played the character since 2014.

But it took until Season 5 for her to get a prominent role on Chicago PD. Spiradakos also told AwardsDaily that her agent only got her three episodes at first.

“[The part] came through as an audition that my agents got for me,” Spiradakos said. “I put myself on tape for the part.”

Spiradakos said show producers “let (her) know that (she’d) be coming back” after Season 4 and before Season 5. She’s also been on Chicago Fire and Chicago Med.
