‘Criminal Minds’ Fans Debate the Worst Episodes in Show’s History

by Joe Rutland

There is no doubt that the old CBS show “Criminal Minds” has a lot of fans. Still, those fans are discussing what are the worst episodes.

Shemar Moore, Mandy Patinkin, Thomas Gibson, and A.J. Cook were among the cast members during its 15-season run. What about these bad episodes, though? An article from Looper helps us out.

We’ll turn to a Reddit thread titled “What’s the worst episode and why is it S6E13 The Thirteenth Step??” started by writer Psychological_Bat865. “The Thirteenth Step” has the team tracking a killing spree started by two young lovers, played by Jonathan Tucker and Adrianne Palicki.

The Redditor said they’d “just spend the entire time cringing” while watching this “Criminal Minds” episode.

‘Criminal Minds’ Worst Episodes List Includes One Featuring A Goatman

Now another episode to join this thread is from Season 15 titled “Rusty.” A character goes out beheading people at the request of a goatman who is made up. Apparently, the goal of killing would open up a parallel universe.

Redditor MungotheSquirrel called this an “absolute nonsensical episode that included a bargain-basement goat costume with glowing red eyes?” The writer also was distracted by the “absurd costume” in the show.

Yet another one for the list is a Season 11 one titled “Awake.” It’s about someone who abducts men and tortures them with sleep deprivation. Why? He thinks one of these dudes kidnapped his daughter.

Redditor mccabebabe said it was bad because of its “ridiculous procedural mistakes.”

Recently, “NCIS” saw its lead actor Mark Harmon leave the show. This led to some people thinking about who could take his place.

Sure, we know no one can really take Harmon’s place and his role as Gibbs.

Some Fans Went On Reddit To Suggest Possible Replacements For Harmon

Some, though, thought Gibson could be a solid choice. Besides “Criminal Minds,” the actor was part of the 1990s hit sitcom “Dharma and Greg” with Jenna Elfman.

Others suggested that Michael Weatherly could come back and reprise his “NCIS” character Tony DiNozzo. But he is a bit occupied with his CBS show “Bull” right now.

Finally, there were other fans who simply thought “NCIS” should end and not replace Gibbs at all.

Now, Outsiders, there was talk about Paramount+ giving the green light to a “Criminal Minds” reboot.

But Paget Brewster, who played Emily Prentiss on the show since 2006, gave an update.

It wasn’t a good one, either.

“No, and sadly, we think it’s dead,” she wrote in response to a fan’s tweet on Twitter. “I’ll let you know if there is any progress but it seems unlikely. Which is a bummer.”

“Criminal Minds” is in syndication TV land so check your schedules for the reruns.
