When the much anticipated CSI: Crime Scene Investigation spin-off, CSI: Vegas premiered on CBS this fall, fans were excited. And, this excitement certainly showed up in the show’s rating numbers. This is why we are especially excited to share the good news that the popular CBS investigative series will be continuing into a second season. Surely sustaining its impressive premiere season success into 2022!

When the brand-new CSI series premiered in October, it promised to give fans of the series an exciting 10 episode limited run.

CSI: Vegas brought some fresh new faces into the CSI laboratories. The new series also brought along some familiar faces from the original series.

As of December 1, CSI: Vegas has premiered nine new episodes; each of which found massively successful viewership. Between the show’s premiere in the fall and the December 1 episode which was titled Waiting In the Wings, viewership increased by 84%.

Rising from 3.71 million viewers to 6.81 million viewers in just a few months.

“The incredibly talented CSI: Vegas creative team and cast did a superb job this first season,” notes Amy Reisenbach, EVP, current programs, CBS.

“Brilliantly updating and portraying the CSI universe with fresh stories and a new crime lab,” Amy Reisenbach adds. “Proving that after 20 years, the CSI fan base is still hungry for more and ready to embrace a new chapter in this illustrious franchise.”

‘CSI: Vegas’ Continues Sin City Action With A Whole New Cast Of Characters

The brand-new CSI spinoff series took fans back to Sin City into the original CSI: Crime Scene Investigation laboratories. However, this time, there was a new team at the helm.

The new CSI: Vegas team was expertly holding down the fort as the new generation. However, some original CSI players soon returned to the laboratories.

These arrivals came as an unknown threat was poised to take down the entire CSI crime Lab. Were the attack to be successful, it would result in thousands of convicted killers being released. Many of whom were brought in by the original CSI teams.

Paula Newsome’s Maxine Roby heads this new CSI: Vegas team of investigators.

Investigators running the crime lab include Matt Lauria as Joshua Folsom; Mandeep Dhillon as Allie Rajan; and Mel Rodriguez as Hugo Ramirez, among others.

As the pending threat unfolds, threatening some major repercussions spanning across decades of work, Maxine Roby enlists the help of CSI alums Gil Grissom (William Peterson) and Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) to investigate the case. Eventually, the investigators learn the case centers around another former CSI colleague, Wallace Langham’s David Hodges.
