‘Dexter: New Blood’: Clancy Brown Once Starred in a Coast Guard Movie Alongside Kevin Costner

Did you know that a Dexter: New Blood star shared the big screen with Kevin Costner?

In an interview with Rich Eisner, Clancy Brown discussed his time on the set. He portrayed Captain William Hadley in the 2006 movie The Guardian.

“They had set up that built this big thing in New Orleans,” he recalled. “A big tank. Katrina comes in wipes out New Orleans. So we all moved to Shreveport which I’m sure the people of Shreveport love Shreveport. But it was not a fun place for me to do,” he admitted.

He revealed that they all stayed up at the casino during filming and had a blast with the cast and crew.

Over the years he has played numerous servicemen during his career. He is arguably best known for playing Captain Hadley in Shawshank Redemption.

He admitted in the same interview that he nor the cast had any idea how iconic it was going to become.

“We didn’t even when it opened […] we knew it was a good movie,” he added. “But you never know if anything’s going to be any good. You hope against hope, you put together all the best guys you had […] it was a real a-list group of folks, but you never know what’s going to happen.”

He revealed that his favorite scene in the project was any with Morgan Freeman narrating it. However, the biggest standout for him was then Red followed Andy’s clues to the tree. Red then discovered a box with a letter from Dufresne that requested his presence in Mexico.

Before Dexter: New Blood, he also portrayed Sgt. Zim on Starship Troopers.

In Dexter: New Blood, Brown portrays the sinister wolf in sheep’s clothing. While he acts as a lovable good neighbor, he’s actually a serial killer. Is he kidnapping and murdering women for the last decade? He would most likely like to relive his first kill, Angela’s buddy Iris.

So what could he be after? What is his motivation? He halted the search for his missing son Matt during the first season. The dead person hidden inside the caves where the search party was about to investigate. Could he have called it off to make sure that his work wasn’t discovered by anyone? Angela discovered his kill despite his apparent best effort and under suspicion by them.

He has a murder cabin and the means. He previously lured Dexter’s son Harrison inch by inch. Now he even views him more than a neighbor and a father figure. Could he train him to be a serial killer? We’ve seen his dark work at play. Could he hold it over the kid?
