Dexter returns in a new series, Dexter: New Blood premiering on Sunday, November 7 at 9pm ET on Showtime. Fans are stoked for the series revival making a surprise return after a 7-year gap. The highly-anticipated series kicks off with its first episode “Cold Snap,” marking Michael C. Hall’s return as the show’s protagonist and anti-hero. Additionally, Jennifer Carpenter returns as a spectral version of Debra Morgan, Dexter’s stepsister.
In anticipation of the reboot, Showtime released a batch of first-look photos to give fans a sneak peek into the upcoming episode, “Cold Snap.” The select images feature a reunion of Hall and Carpenter amongst other returning characters as well as introduce a number of new cast members.

‘Dexter: New Blood’ Trailer
In anticipation of the November premiere, Showtime released a series of trailers giving fans a glimpse of Dexter’s new life.
Trailers for the show reveal Dexter heading to Iron Lake in the snow whilst going by the name James Lindsey. Dexter’s new life seems fairly peaceful and drama-free for the most part. Meanwhile, a series of young people in the area start to mysteriously go missing and Dexter’s son returns home.
In summary, the synopsis for the limited series reads: “Set 10 years after Dexter went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura, the series finds him living under an assumed name in the small town of Iron Lake, New York.”
Since the world at large believes Dexter Morgan died in a tragic boating accident, Dexter finds himself in unchartered territory far from the life he once knew.
Who is in the cast of Dexter: New Blood?
Trinity Killer actor John Lithgow will return as one of the few original characters in the revival. Actor Jack Alcott from Good Lord Bird will take the role of Dexter’s young son Harrison.
Most importantly, fans are excited to see Deb’s return after her death at the end of Dexter Season 8. As a result, The adopted siblings are back together again with Deb playing Dexter’s inner conscious.
New faces for the series include Angela Bishop, played by Julia Jones appears on the show as the first Native American Chief of Police in her town, Iron Lake. The actress played Leah Clearwater in three of the Twilight movies with appearances in Westworld, Longmire, The Mandalorian, Rutherford Falls, Wind River, and The Ridiculous 6.
Additionally, Jones’ on-screen daughter Audrey will be played by Johnny Sequoyah. Sequoyah’s previous appearances include the American Housewife pilot and the NBC show Believe.
Viewers can access all eight seasons of the original Dexter leading up to the new series on Showtime and Amazon Prime.
The new season will have 10 episodes, airing weekly on Showtime.
