“Die Hard” is a Christmas movie.
If you disagree with that statement, well, you might just be wrong.
After all, the action-packed movie is set during Christmas time, full of Christmas lights, holiday songs, even some decorations, so what else could you possibly look for in a holiday-themed movie?
For the stars of the classic 1988 film, “Die Hard” will always stick out on their resume of work as one of the best. It’s hard to top a thriller about an NYPD officer saving the day from a group of German terrorists, after all.
Well, yippee-ki-yay, we’ve gotten to see a lot of these stars on the screen again in the over 20 years since. For some, that includes the other four movies that have come out in the franchise.
Where are the ‘Die Hard’ Actors Now?
The main man of each of these “Die Hard” films is Bruce Willis.
Since he starred in the action-packed Christmas thriller, Willis has had no shortage of iconic roles in Hollywood. At the same time as “Die Hard,” Willis was also David Addison Jr. on “Moonlighting.”
He starred in several movies in the ’90s, one of which was the cult-classic Quentin Tarantino flick, “Pulp Fiction” in 1994. He played Butch Coolidge in the movie.
Other notable roles include “The Whole Nine Yards,” “The Sixth Sense,” “Sin City,” “RED,” “The Expendables,” and “Hair of the Dog.” Not to mention, he’s got several projects in the works right now.
“Paradise City,” “Fortress 2,” “White Elephant,” “Die Like Lovers,” and “A Day to Die” (no relation to “A Good Die to Die Hard”) are just a couple of the movies currently listed as post-production on IMDb.
The other stars of the movie are Alan Rickman, Alexander Godunov, and Bonnie Bedelia.
Fans of “Harry Potter” will recognize Rickman for his most recognizable role in the entertainment world as Severus Snape. He appeared in all eight of the movies from 2001 to 2011. Rickman made his feature film debut in “Die Hard” and had a phenomenal career. Sadly, the actor died from pancreatic cancer in 2016.
More Characters After ‘Die Hard’
As for Bonnie Bedelia, who played the estranged wife of McClane, she also is still working in the entertainment industry. She has a new Christmas movie coming out called “The Noel Diary” and is starring in “The Hill” with Scott Glenn and Dennis Quaid. Her other work since “Die Hard” includes “Parenthood,” “Panic,” and “Designated Survivor.”
Fan-favorite character Reginald VelJohnson, who plays Sgt. Al Powell, his most recent work is voicing a character in “Invincible.” Alexander Godunov is another main character. He had roles in “Witness,” “The Money Pit,” and “The Zone.” Sadly, he passed away in 1995 at the age of 45.
Lastly, we have William Atherton, a TV reporter named Richard Thornburg that was a massive pain for the heroic John McClane. He hasn’t had roles in a few years now. His last two were Netflix thriller “Clinical” in 2017 and the next year “Bad Company.”
All this makes us want to watch “Die Hard” again as the Christmas-time spirit is in the air. If you’re going to do the same, well, “Welcome to the party, pal.”
