Despite the split between Dog the Bounty Hunter’s, Duane Lee Chapman and his daughter, he never misses her birthday. A child can argue with their parents all they want, but they will never cut you off completely. At the end of the day, you’re the most important part of their lives besides themselves.
Firstly, Duane wishes her a happy birthday with a thoughtful Instagram post.
“Love you Bonnie. Happy Birthday,” he wrote via Instagram.
As you can see he is not featured in the photo. It features his daughter and ex-wife, Beth Chapman. They appear to be in an auditorium of some sort. However, the picture isn’t the best quality since it looks a little blurry.
Amid the birthday shoutout, Bonnie Chapman accuses her father of racism and homophobia a while back.
The Split Between the Father and Daughter
We all know that Bonnie and her father don’t get along anymore since she was accused of being racist at his wedding.
First of all, the drama started when her dad didn’t invite her or her older sister, Cecily to his wedding. As a result, she sent a post out to social media that said he’s a racist. Since her father isn’t a fan of the Black Lives Matter protests while Bonnie is, he took her off the invite list.
As a matter of fact, Duane was fired from Dog the Bounty Hunter for this behavior.
PEOPLE reported Bonnie saying, “I’m sorry, but I can’t defend my Dad’s racism. I have expressed time and time again my ever-growing disappointment in my father’s progression into his old racist ways.”
In spite of this mess, Bonnie is still waiting for an apology from her dad. I can only imagine how bad she wants her father to change so that she can be close with him again. It’s not fun being on bad terms with someone, especially a parent.
Dog the Bounty Hunter’s Family Life
According to The Sun, Duane “Dog” Chapman has been married six times with 12 children. One of them being Barbara Katy who passed away in 2006 due to a car accident.
This tragedy hit the family pretty hard since it’s never easy losing a family member. However, they are always with you in spirit. Although, Barbara isn’t the only child of Dog’s that passed away. Unfortunately, he also lost his son, Zebadiah.
Overall, it sounds like “Dog” has had quite a tough life. But it only makes him stronger in the end.
Hopefully one day, he will reunite with Bonnie and make up their differences. Life is too short to stay mad at someone, even if they don’t agree with their perspective on certain things.
