Many of us know Catherine Bach by her Dukes of Hazzard role as Daisy Duke. Since then, she’s created a long-lasting legacy for herself. Not to mention the denim shorts that adopted the Daisy Duke name.

Catherine Bach, now 67, didn’t stop acting after Dukes of Hazzard. In fact, she’s still acting today. Since the end of the iconic show, she’s had roles in African Skies, Monk, and Hawaii Five-0. She’s also been appearing on The Young and the Restless. She believes that typecasting is something that can’t be avoided, but that doesn’t bother her. At the end of the day, she’s happy to provide entertainment to fans, no matter the show.

She still gets a kick from being on Dukes of Hazzard, too. She attends fan events when they happen and thinks that being called Daisy Duke is “charming.” She marvels at the show’s everlasting ability to connect people with one another. The show remains popular on Amazon, where all seven seasons are available for viewing.

Catherine Bach and Her Expansive Career

In addition to her continual acting career, Bach also created a jewelry line and opened a store. Her store, called Daisy Country, sells her jewelry along with clothes and memorabilia. The Nashville store is partnered with a Dukes of Hazzard-themed store. She sells a little bit of everything, really. Items available at the store include t-shirts, dog collars and leashes, coffee cups, bags, and more. Inventory will only continue to grow as the store grows.

Bach’s Family Life

Catherine Bach has kept busy with work, but she still made time for family. She’s been married twice. First, to David Shaw from 1976 to 1981. Their marriage overlapped with her time on Dukes of Hazzard. Her second marriage to Peter Lopez in 1990 lasted until his untimely death in 2010. Lopez and Bach have two daughters together, Laura and Sophia.

“We were so devastated,” Bach said when asked about her husband’s death. “When you are part of a happy family unit, you lose part of that… I mean, we were completely insulated and happy with our family.” She goes on to say, “Their dad was everything to them, and that will always be a loss no matter what happens in our lives, no matter how great it is. It is always going to be bittersweet because our little circle of light and family was everything to us.”

‘Dukes of Hazzard’ Cast Still Keeps in Touch

Decades after the end of the show, Bach still keeps in touch with her co-stars. John Schneider and Tom Wopat (otherwise known as Bo and Luke Duke) connect more often with each other than they do with Bach. Still, the co-stars ran into each other at events before COVID-19. They hope that with events coming back, a Dukes of Hazzard cast reunion is in store.
