Dwayne Johnson FaceTimes 5-Year-Old Diagnosed With Terminal Cancer: VIDEO

by Madison Miller

Dwayne Johnson may be built like a stone-cold rock, but he has one of the warmest, biggest hearts in Hollywood.

The “Red Notice” star recently shared a video of him speaking with a 5-year-old boy with terminal cancer. He shared the young hero’s story with all of his followers on Instagram.

Dwayne Johnson Speaks with Brave Cancer Patient

He shared that Jett was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma in 2021, which is a highly aggressive and inoperable brain tumor. The survival rate of DIPG is about 8 to 11 months. It also devastatingly takes away a person’s ability to “walk, talk, smile, and eventually breathe,” Johnson wrote.

So far, young Jett has gone through 30 different rounds of radiation and has lost his ability to speak. That doesn’t stop him, however. He will still communicate by using a thumbs-up or a thumbs-down.

For Dwayne Johnson, being able to talk to this 5-year-old fighter was life-changing.

“This little boy looks up to me as a superhero. He believes I’m brave, strong, funny and kind. Maybe I’m a few of those things, but in this moment talking to him, I just don’t know. But what I do know is that this little boy is way stronger, braver and kinder than I’ll ever be,” wrote Johnson.

It also seemed to hit even closer to home for the movie star. He said after finishing up the call, he flew home to tuck his little girl Jazzy into bed on her birthday. She was the same exact age as young Jett, which is perhaps why the situation choked him up so much. He revealed that he usually tries to keep it together when speaking to families, but this time he visibly got emotional.

“But this time when I was telling Jett’s mommy and daddy, Larisa and Manny how special their son is… I just had to pause. Too emotional to speak. All I could muster was ‘I’m sorry,'” he also wrote.

In the video he shared alongside the post, you can watch as Johnson adoringly speaks to Jett and says talking to him is the best part of his day. The family thanks him and Johnson got visibly choked up saying just how special their son is.

Special Message for ‘Moana’ Fan

One memorable moment was in May when he posted a message to 4-year-old Indy Llew Jones. She is battling cancer and posted a video of himself singing his character’s song “You’re Welcome” from “Moana.”

“It’s 1am and I just got sent this beautiful vid of a VERY special & strong little girl named Indy Llew. Stay strong honey and keep singing your songs! Love you, MAUI,” Johnson wrote.
