Grammy Awards Features Best from Music World
There always are great performances from some of the best in the music world. According to Billboard, the early slate of Grammy performers includes Brothers Osborne, BTS, Brandi Carlile, Lil Nas X with Jack Harlow, Billie Eilish, and Olivia Rodrigo.
It’s the third straight year that Eilish is on the Grammys show. She was on the 2020 broadcast singing “When the Party’s Over” with Finneas. In 2021, she sang “Everything I Wanted” and Eilish is nominated for Record of the Year with “Happier Than Ever.”
Now, Billie Eilish won that category’s award in the last two years with “bad guy” and “Everything I Wanted.” If she pulls off the victory, then it’ll be three straight years for Record of the Year and it’d be a Grammy record.
BTS, Brandi Carlile Get Ready To Sing Big Hits
For BTS, it’s their second straight year on the show to perform. Last year, they did “Dynamite.” For this year, they are nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance again with “Butter.” That song topped the Hot 100 for 10 weeks.
Meanwhile, Carlile broke through in 2019 with her Grammy performance of “The Joke.” It was nominated for both Record and Song of the Year. Yet again, she’s in them both for “Right on Time.”
Lil Nas X happened to team up with Billy Ray Cyrus in 2020 for their hit “Old Town Road (Remix).” However, on this year’s 2022 Grammys, Lil Nas X is nominated for Record of the Year in 2022 and Song of the Year for “Montero (Call Me by Your Name).” Watch for Lil Nas X and Harlow to perform “Industry Baby,” which was a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and is a Grammy nominee for Best Melodic Rap Performance.
But also keep an eye out to see if Lil Nas X performs “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” which was also a No. 1 hit on the Hot 100. Incidentally, Brothers Osborne finds themselves nominated for the ballad “Younger Me.” Rodrigo also has nominations for “drivers license” and “good 4 u.” Carlile is nominated for three different works.
