Ex-‘NCIS’ Star Emily Wickersham Gets Sweet Message From Boyfriend in Adorable Post

by Suzanne Halliburton

Let’s check in on former NCIS favorite Emily Wickersham. Her boyfriend wants her to know he’s on his way home.

The couple exchanged adorable messages on Instagram, Tuesday. Wickersham’s boyfriend is actor James Badge Dale. And he posted a cute photo of the couple and captioned the snap: “Coming home baby.”

And Wickersham, who played Ellie Bishop on NCIS, replied “Yaaaaaaaa! Get back here!”

Just going by Instagram locations, Dale was flying out of Hell and Purgatory Airport. That’s really a place and located in Onslow County, North Carolina. This week, Dale also has been in Cape Cod, Mass. and Montauk, N.Y. He’s currently starring in the Starz series Hightown, which is filmed in Provincetown, a town on the tip of Cade Cod. Given the photos Wickersham is posting, it appears she’s spending some time on Cape Cod, too.

A few weeks after Wickersham left NCIS, the couple sold their home in Los Angeles for almost $4 million. That wasn’t the only significant change to their lives. Wickersham also announced she was pregnant with the couple’s first child. It’s a baby boy! She hasn’t talked about the due date. But Dale posted on Instagram earlier this fall that Wickersham was in her third trimester. So baby is due sometime really soon. Will he be a Thanksgiving or Christmas baby?

Wickersham’s Departure Devastated NCIS Fans

Wickersham’s final NCIS episode was the season 18 finale in late May. Fans still yearn for her to come back to the show, which has added two main cast members for season 19.

Wickersham’s Bishop was a definite fan favorite. She and Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) were partners. And there was a lot of chemistry between the two. Looking back on the finale, we know that Bishop left her NCIS career behind. She trashed her public reputation as she leaked classified documents to some gun runners. Or did she? Those documents happened to be discovered by federal agents in an abandoned house. She was staring down a prison sentence, so her behavior didn’t make sense. But Torres figured it out. Bishop was training with Odette so she could go deep undercover with the CIA.

Torres deduced that Bishop did this all deliberately so she could take a new CIA and be believable as a disgruntled agent. Torres tracked down Bishop at Odette’s house and confronted her. The two kissed. And Bishop walked away.

During the NCIS season 19 premiere, Jimmy (Brian Dietzen) showed up at Bishop’s vacated apartment and found Torres there looking for answers. Jimmy told Torres that Bishop already was on a plane and that she’d changed her phone number.

Katrina Law, as Jess Knight, took Wickersham’s spot in the permanent cast. Meanwhile, Gary Cole, as Alden Parker, stepped in for Mark Harmon’s Gibbs. Monday night’s episode, which featured guest star Patricia Richardson, drew an audience of 7.06 million. It was the most-watched show on Monday night outside of the NFL game.
