‘Facts of Life’ Reunion Was Missing One Major Star

Tuesday night’s Live In Front of a Studio Audience special took television viewers down quite the nostalgic path. In the special, celebrities reenacted episodes of the classic sitcoms The Facts of Life and Diff’rent Strokes. Both of these shows premiered in the late 1970s and continued on the air into the 1980s.

Many of the surviving stars connected to the iconic sitcoms made some memorably surprising appearances during the Tuesday evening special.

However, one Facts of Life star was noticeably missing from the special as Nancy McKeon, the actress who portrays Jo in the hit series, did not visit the set for a cameo.

‘Facts Of Life’ Reenactment Was Missing One Major Star’s Cameo

Certainly, longtime fans of the original series were disappointed to see that Nancy McKeon wasn’t able to attend the live taping of the Live In Front of a Studio Audience Facts of Life special. However, news on why McKeon was unable to attend the taping has not been released.

The longtime actress recently starred in an Amazon Prime series titled Panic. The show didn’t catch on with fans and was canceled not long after the premiere.

McKeon also competed in Dancing With the Stars in 2018. In 2019, she joined fellow Facts of Life costars Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn, and Lisa Whelchel in the Lifetime movie titled You Light Up My Christmas.

A Fun and Star-Studded Evening of Classic Comedy

Original Facts of Life star Lisa Whelchel performed the show’s catchy theme song Tuesday evening. Whelchel was featured on the long-running series as the spoiled but big-hearted Blair.

Later, two more stars from the iconic sitcom joined Whelchel on the set.

As the Tuesday Live From a Studio Audience special came to a close, actresses Kim Field and Mindy Cohn joined Whelchel on set. Fields gained fame portraying Tootie in the popular series, and Cohn became known for her portrayal of Natalie.

Some of the cast members included in the Tuesday evening remake of the 1982 Facts of Life episode Kids Can Be Cruel include Jennifer Aniston as Blair; Ann Dowd as housemother of the Eastman boarding students Mrs. Garret; Allison Tolman as Natalie; Gabrielle Union Tootie; and Kathryn Hahn as McKeon’s Joe.

The December 7 Live In Front of a Studio audience Tuesday special also included a variety of surprise guest stars in both the Diff’rent Strokes performance and the Facts of Life reenactment. John Stewart, Jason Bateman, and Will Arnett guest-starred in the reenactment of the original Facts of Life episode. Iconic rapper and performer Snoop Dogg had a guest-starring role on Tuesday’s Diff’rent Strokes re-enactment.
