It’s been several years since “Fast and Furious” star Paul Walker died and the effects are still be felt by his co-star Jordana Brewster.
Brewster starred alongside Paul Walker and many other actors in the “Fast and Furious” franchise. Walker was known for his role as Brian O’Conner in the films, Brewster also had a big role as Walker’s on-screen wife in the popular movie franchise. Walker and Brewster grew close through their time on the “Fast and Furious” set, becoming great friends. Brewster admits in a recent interview that Walker’s death still weighs heavily on her mind, nearly eight years later. Many other “Fast and Furious” actors have expressed similar sentiments since Paul Walker’s death in 2013. She says Walker had a “huge impact” on her life and the lives of many others. She also grief “comes in waves” when she thinks back to her time with Paul Walker.
“I think when someone passes away that has a huge impact on your life and has had a huge impact, frankly, on so many people’s lives,” Jordana Brewster says. “(Grief) goes in waves where it’s super visceral at times, and it’s like it’s unimaginable that that person’s not with us anymore.”
Paul Walker would have turned 48-years-old earlier this month and was 40-years-old at the time of his death. Brewster admits to having a difficult time processing her “Fast and Furious” co-star’s death from a car crash. She describes her feeling as “intense” when grief overcomes her.
“It just gets very intense and then sometimes it’s less intense,” she says. “But it just comes in waves, regardless of whether it’s that person’s birthday or not.”

Paul Walker died on November 30, 2013, as the result of a car crash. His 48th birthday would have come on September 12 and several of his “Fast and Furious” co-stars used the day to pay tribute to their fallen colleague. Jordana Brewster was among those honoring Walker on his birthday.
“Every year, I have a way of honoring him on his birthday and remembering him and celebrating him,” she says. “And I think that’s also part of what’s nice about when the cast is together is that we do honor and celebrate him as well.”
While the “Fast and Furious” franchise is moving forward, Jordana Brewster and the movie’s cast keep Walker’s memory alive. She admits she still struggles to find the right words when she speaks on her co-star’s untimely death.
“It is a hard thing to talk about,” the actress says. “Sometimes it’s still unbelievable that he’s not with us.”
