Learning a new city can certainly be a daunting experience. Especially if that city is the Big Apple itself, New York City. But, as one FBI star recently learned, filming the popular CBS series takes the cast on so many locations, anyone can soon learn all of the ins-and-outs that they need in order to navigate the bustling metropolis. And, says Missy Peregrym, the actress who portrays FBI’s Maggie Bell, this is how she learned her way around the massive city.
“Even the pilot was like Harlem, Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Long Island,” Missy Peregrym tells Gonzo Okanagan in a recent interview. The actress who moved to the Big Apple for this role from Los Angeles notes that she was surprised by the size of New York City.
“I’m like how big is this place, honestly?” the FBI actress quips.
“And I feel really misled by people who are like, “I’m from Brooklyn,”” Peregrym jokes.
“I’m like it’s humongous. That tells me nothing,” the actress explains. “It’s a fascinating place.”
‘FBI’ Star Missy Peregrym Settles Right In
When Missy Peregrym took on her role as Maggie Bell in 2018 she made a major leap moving from the West Coast in Los Angeles to the East Coast in New York City.
A move, Peregrym says, that was worth it almost immediately – once she was settled. But first, the actress had the challenge of finding their perfect place in the city. And, says Peregrym, her options were a little limited.
“We really only had one spot we could get into,” the FBI actress explains. “Because of the dog and having furnished.”
You don’t even have to be a New Yorker to know that prime living space can be hard to find in the Big Apple. This search can certainly become a lot more challenging when your options are limited.
“We didn’t have too many options,” Missy Peregrym explains of her New York City home hunting. But, persistence paid off, and eventually, the actress settled on the perfect spot.
“Where we found is so great,” the actress says.
Once settled, the FBI star quickly began to feel at home in her new city.
“Like I said, I’m really happy to be there now,” says Peregrym.
“It only took a weekend for me to feel like I’m more comfortable here than I’ve ever been in L.A,” the actress continues. “Which I find really fascinating. I think it just attracts different people.”
