Dick Wolf knew he wanted Missy Peregrym to be his leading lady on FBI before she even auditioned for the part.

But apparently, Peregrym had no idea that the creator was dying to have her star in the show. All of her feedback and information came from her agents. And they never illuded to any special interest from Wolfe.

And as Peregrym told Go, her audition was a disaster. So, she wasn’t expecting to work on FBI anyway.

“I flew in Saturday after work, went to a cast dinner totally jet-lagged, [and ]had the read-through the next day,” she said.

And to make matter’s worse, the Rookie Blue alum is a self-proclaimed “horrible auditioner.”

But none of that mattered because Dick Wolf had already decided that Peregrym would play Agent Maggie Bell. And after her audition, he sat down and told her that he “fought” for her.

“Really, he fought for me because I guess they auditioned a lot of other women,” she shared. “There’s a lot of women who could do this, really. There’s a lot of talent out there. Again, it’s just one of those things where I’m like thank you.”

Missy Peregrym is a “firm believer” in doing her best work for every role. Making characters great is how she continues to find jobs. And her on-screen resume is what caught Wolf’s eye.

“So far in my career, it’s been one thing that leads to the next,” she concluded. “This is just a huge but another example of somebody having an idea for something that I had nothing to do with, and I got an opportunity from that. I’m really grateful.”

Missy Peregrym Does Not Want an ‘FBI’ and ‘Law & Order: SVU’

We’d all love to see an FBI and Law & Order: SVU crossover one of these days. But Missy Peregrym wants nothing to do with it.

“Logistically that would be hell,” the FBI actress told The PC Principle. “I mean, I could see doing a crossover quicker with say, FBI: Most Wanted. The reason I am saying that it would be difficult with SVU and Chicago P.D. is because it would be two networks.”

Both the FBI and Law & Order franchises come from the mind of Dick Wolf. So clearly, it would be interesting to watch the worlds collide. But one series airs on CBS and the other on NBC. And working everything out between the competing networks would be a nightmare.

However, the actress agrees that the union would be “interesting.” And she’s even thought about the possibility of Maggie Bell meeting some of Wolf’s other characters.

“I think Maggie meeting Hank Voight for the first time would be really interesting,” she shared. “I have a feeling that there would be some fighting immediately, but it would be really fun. It would be fun to see how we fit into each other’s world, especially the characters that are so well-developed and have been on the air a long time. That would be very interesting.”
