Happy Days spin-off Mork & Mindy wound up borrowing costumes from a popular science fiction series. You may notice that Mork’s red jumpsuit on the show is the same one seen on Star Trek: The Original Series.

Mork and Mindy starred Robin Williams and Pam Dawber. It followed an alien named Mork who comes down to earth from his home planet where he meets Mindy, his first true human friend.

The red jumpsuit worn by Mork has a distinctive silver lining. According to MeTV, it was worn by Colonel Green in an episode called The Savage Curtain towards the end of Star Trek: The Original Series’ s run. Mork and Mindy was on air from 1978 through 1982 while Star Trek: The Original Series aired from 1966 through 1969.

Mork & Mindy was incredibly successful for a spinoff series. The comedic format of Robin Williams playing an alien learning about humans proved too golden for audiences to resist. Additionally, the wacky premise wound up benefitting the series.

‘Mork & Mindy’ Actress Pam Dawber Recently Appeared on ‘NCIS’

Mork & Mindy actress Pam Dawber continues to act to this day. She recently featured in a few NCIS episodes where she played investigative journalist Marcie Warren. Dawber is married to NCIS star Mark Harmon. However, the former Mork & Mindy star kept refusing roles on the show until she was offered a role she truly loved.

She explained to Entertainment Weekly that she had been asked multiple times to be on the show. However, she turned down each offer.

Additionally, she didn’t want to play her husband’s romantic interest. The Mork & Mindy actress made sure that that wasn’t where the script was headed.

“I talked to the writers and the producers before I signed on and said, ‘If this is a romantic interest, I’m not interested.’ They said not at all, that’s not where we’re going with this,” she told Entertainment Weekly.

From the comedy of Mork & Mindy to her more serious work on NCIS, Pam Dawber has proven time and time again that she has the range. Alongside Robin Williams, the two provided major laughs

Both Dawber and Williams had Very Successful Careers

Mork & Mindy was just the start for both actors. Additionally, Dawber went on to feature in works like My Sister Sam, Stay Tuned, and Bewitched. She married Mark Harmon in 1987 and the two are still together and have two boys.

While Dawber went on to take plenty of roles aside from that on NCIS, Robin Williams had an incredible career. From Dead Poets Society to Good Will Hunting to lighter roles in Jumanji and Mrs. Doubtfire, Williams became an absolute legend in the entertainment world. Tragically, Robin Williams passed away in 2014, leaving behind a major legacy.
