Harrison Ford Once Gave Hilarious Response to Question About Playing ‘Indiana Jones’ as He Aged

by Joe Rutland

Some people just have not learned that Harrison Ford doesn’t like to be messed with much. For instance, don’t tick off Indiana Jones.

Let’s take a look at what this situation looked like when Ford responded to those questioning him in the famed role. It was about playing Indy, a character that first hit movie screens in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

We turn to ScreenRant for more information.

Harrison Ford turned witty about playing an older Indiana Jones in a 2008 interview when Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was coming out. OK, so Ford was just 66 at the time. When Indiana Jones 5 comes out in 2023, he’ll be older.

Harrison Ford Gives Classic ‘So What?’ Reply To Those Fretting About Age

Anyway, let’s check out what he said thanks to Entertainment Weekly. “That’s one of the things I was most keen about,” Ford says. “Just acknowledge the years, without reservation. What’s the big deal? The guy’s 18, 20 years older. So what?

“Yeah, I’ve heard it,” Ford says. “‘Aaaaw, he’s older.’ Well, s—, yes. And by the way? So are you. So…are… you! Take a look in the f—ing mirror!”

Oh, Harrison Ford will be about 80 years old in Indiana Jones 5. This flick will come out 42 years after Raiders was released in 1981.

It appears that this new film will have Indy do some time travel.

Actor Did Suffer Shoulder Injruy In Summer 2021, But He’s Still In Movie

This takes some burden off Ford to play Indiana Jones by himself the whole time. Plus, there will be another supernatural/sci-fi twist that’ll be different from what our hero has encountered.

While a younger Indiana might show up through the magic of CGI, Ford remains the No. 1 protagonist currently at 79 years old.

Indy might just say what Ford did above. A lot of people who go see Indiana Jones 5 were not even born in 1981. There also will be a crowd that remembers Raiders of the Lost Ark quite well.

Harrison Ford is one solid actor and can be a real stinker at times, too. A stinker in a good way, Outsiders.

He did suffer a shoulder injury on the movie set in last summer. That, though, will not stop Indy or Harrison Ford, either.

In case you did not know, Ford played Han Solo in Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Revenge of the Jedi. This breakout role saw the young actor get a chance to create one of the movie world’s most memorable characters.

Ford also has a rock music connection. He was one of the camera crew members that helped legendary band The Doors film their 1968 concert at the Hollywood Bowl.
