Listen up Home Town fans! HGTV is bringing a new series to Erin and Ben Napier’s renovation franchise. So you’re going to have a lot of binge-watching to do.

Home Town follows the Napiers as they breathe life into neglected houses in their own hometown of Laurel, Mississippi. The year, the couple, celebrated five seasons of their hit show. And now, HGTV is announcing a new spinoff series called Home Town Kickstart.

The first two additions to Erin and Ben’s world came in 2021 when HGTV dropped Home Town Takeover and Discovery+ introduced Home Town: Ben’s Workshop. While the couple decided not to move forward with Home Town Takeover, Ben’s Workshop recently wrapped up production of season two.

However, HGTV’s Takeover series wasn’t canceled due to a lack of interest. In May of this year, Ben and Erin welcomed their second daughter, Mae. And with all the responsibilities of a newborn and two other series, the duo decided they needed to put their other projects on the backburner. Now, they’re ready to move forward and give fans more renovations. But they’ll be stepping back from the limelight.

‘Home Town Kickstart’ Will Renovate Six American Small Towns

Home Town Kickstart will be very similar to Takeover. Erin and Ben will choose six American small towns and give them a makeover. But instead of heading to the locations themselves, they’ll send HGTV’s “biggest stars” to do the work for them. And like Takeover, the new series won’t just focus on old homes. Instead, the renovation gurus will revitalize one public space, one small business, and one personal home in each city. And as an added bonus, each home will be owned by a local hero.

When HGTV announced the addition of Hometown Takeover, it asked fans to submit videos explaining why they deserved a Napier makeover. And the response was epic—the network received 500,000 submissions from 2,600 small towns. The new series choose its new winners from that batch of submission.

People Magazine will help HGTV with its new series by following the stars to each chosen location and writing about the “unique stories of each town and its most intriguing people.”

“Erin and I have renovated more than 80 homes in Laurel for Home Town. And we’ve seen how these improvements change a community for the better,” said Ben Napier. “Now, with help from HGTV, we’re going to continue what we started and help more small towns across the country.”

It’s unclear if Ben and Erin will appear in the new series, but there is a good chance the couple will head out to meet the lucky communities that scored a makeover. And if you’re looking for a Home Town fix, Season 6 is set to premiere on Sunday, December 26, at 8 p.m. EST.
