‘Home Town’ Star Ben Napier Reveals a ‘Dream Come True’

by Chase Thomas

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, folks. Especially for Home Town star Ben Napier these days. Napier and his wife, Erin, have become reality television superstars for their awesome work on Home Town and all the good they do for folks in small towns around the South. Well, Home Town star Ben Napier revealed a dream come true for his business and his town of Laurel on his Instagram page today.

He captioned the photos and post with this, “This week, a dream came true for me and our company. We are manufacturing products in the heart of Laurel. Less than 2 miles from my house, in an underserved part of town, a shuttered factory is buzzing back to life. If you’re in town this week, please shop our cutting boards or check them out online. The men and women working in our factory have so much pride in these. This will provide jobs and improve the neighborhood. We are still working out the kinks, but this is going to be huge, y’all. It was clearly a huge step for Ben and his company. It was another opportunity for him and his company to do good for his community and it looks like that will continue to be the case.

One fan who loved the post wrote, “Ben, I love everything about this. We already own a few of those awesome cutting boards and we will be buying a lot more!”

Another wrote, “Congratulations to you. What a great way to give back to your community.”

One might not think parenting and crafts go hand in hand, but they do. Ben of Home Town told Country Living that, “My parents are both United Methodist ministers, and while I grew up doing little projects around the church or parsonage, it wasn’t until college that I started woodworking and building furniture. I was studying history and had always been drawn to the stories behind antiques, the way furniture reflected how people lived and worked. “

It has always been in Ben’s family to do this kind of work. It dated back to when he was a kid. He got older and he learned how to turn his passion into something sustainable and he has and has made a career out of it.”

He continued, “On our TV shows, I get to design pieces I hope people will keep and pass on, so when my wife, Erin, and I found out we were having our daughter, Helen, I wanted to make a crib that would become a family heirloom.”
