Erin Napier, star of HGTV’s hit reality series “Home Town,” has plenty to be thankful for as the holiday season quickly approaches.
Along with her husband, Ben Napier, the “Home Town” team specializes in renovating older, historical homes. Most of their work is in the Napier’s hometown of Laurel, Mississippi, though they do venture out from time to time. The show, like many other home renovation television series, has become quite popular among the Do-It-Yourself audience. On the show, Ben and Erin Napier work as a team to renovate and renew older models and historical buildings. Erin handles the interior aspect of the renovation projects while Ben is hands-on with the construction side of the project. It is quite amazing what the husband and wife team can do to older property and many viewers watch the show to gain ideas on how to also spruce up their own.
Erin also handles much of the “Home Town” social media efforts which are vital to building a fan base these days. The show has been on the air for six seasons, so obviously “Home Town” is doing something right. In her most recent social media post, Erin celebrates the anniversary of a business venture with friends. She also invites people out for a Christmas party at their store.
“5 years ago this week we reopened the doors of the @laurelmercantile with our 4 best friends on Pancake Day,” Erin says in the post. “The original LMCo. opened in 1901 and closed in the 1930s. In 2016 we adopted the name for our shop of vintage goods and heirloom American-made wares, and there were only 3 little babies between our 3 families.”
‘Home Town’ Star Thankful for Family, Business Success
Erin shares a few photos of her team of “Home Town” friends and how far they have come. As their business grew, so did the size of their families.
“We had a handful of part-time employees, and I spent many late nights trying to figure out our point of sale and inventory software before opening day,” she continues. “Now our three families have 8 kids between us, 75 employees, soon to be closer to 100, and absolutely no one would trust me with the inner workings of the fancy inventory software.”
The “Home Town” star concludes her social media post by inviting friends to a Christmas party and toy drive.
“We’re having a party on the Mercantile lawn and a toy drive for local families in need starting at 9 am today,” she says. “Bring a new toy and come celebrate 5 years with us!”
In a testament to how popular the Napiers and “Home Town” are, Erin’s post took in more than 63,000 “likes” in under four hours.
