With YouTube personality turned boxer Jake Paul‘s next fight coming up this weekend, he recently opened up about what’s to come after his boxing career is over. The polarizing fighter hinted at possibly trying out for the NFL or even getting into NASCAR after he hangs up his boxing gloves.

On Saturday, Dec. 18, Paul will face off against UFC fighter Tyrone Woodley for the second time. The YouTuber was scheduled to fight boxer Tommy Fury – the brother of heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury. However, due to medical reasons, Tommy pulled out of the bout at the last second. Paul enlisted Woodley, who was prepared to fight on short notice. So the pair will enter the ring for a rematch this weekend in Tampa, Florida.

The millionaire YouTuber recently joined Welsh sports journalist Gareth A. Davies on his show to talk about the upcoming fight. While wearing swim goggles in the interview, Jake Paul shared details of his training regime. He’s been swimming a lot to get ready for the bout. Davies amusingly joked that he’d soon be racing against famed Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps.

“Why not? You know I have wondered what do I do after boxing? I’ve thought about the NFL, I’ve thought about NASCAR. But now that you’re bringing up swimming,” Jake Paul responded.

While both ideas seem outlandish, fans and sports analysts said the same about Paul’s transition into boxing. Paul has a 4-0 record so far in his boxing career. Although his first two fights were against other celebrities, his most recent two fights were against UFC fighters.

Considering the YouTuber has a net worth of around $30 million, he definitely has the money to get into racing. He’d have to start out in the lower tiers of the sport but could move up fairly quickly if successful. In fact, he even posted a video showing off his experience at the 2017 Cup Series championship finale a few years back. He didn’t drive at the event, obviously, but seemed to love every minute of his time around the sport.

Jake Paul Wants to ‘Make An Impact’ On Boxing Before He Retires

Even though Jake Paul is pondering his future, it sounds like his boxing career won’t be over anytime soon. NASCAR could be on the cards one day for Paul, but the NFL seems even less likely. While he’s only 24 years old, he’d face an uphill battle trying to make an NFL roster.

The majority of professional football players played in high school and then went on to earn scholarships and play in college. With little to no experience on an elite competitive football team at any level, he’d have his work cut out for him.

As of now, Jake Paul is content with his boxing career. He’s also a boxing promoter who organized numerous fights, including many of the undercards during his own bouts. Before he leaves the sport, he wants to leave his mark on the sport as a competitor who helped bring the boxing back to prominence.

“I want to make an impact, leave a footprint, and go down in the history books as someone who really helped this sport. I want to be talked about for years and years to come, and I want to have fun doing it,” Paul said to Reuters recently.
