‘Jeopardy!’: Amy Schneider Extends Streak to 16 Games, Is 4th in All-Time Winnings

by Jonathan Howard

Another day, another win for Jeopardy! champion Amy Schneider. She continues to be a force to be reckoned with as long as she holds onto a buzzer.

This has been a wild year of Jeopardy! There have been some great contestants. However, there have been two rockstars and elite players that have taken control of the game. The first was Matt Amodio. After his 38-win streak, I’m not sure anyone thought we would see another double-digit champ the rest of the season.

Then we saw Jonathan Fisher win 11 straight games. Surely, we wouldn’t see that happen again…well, here we are in the midst of a 16-game win streak for Amy Schneider, and she shows no signs of slowing up. She has the perfect mix of skills and a willingness to take big risks. While Schnieder isn’t racking up James Holzhauer’s numbers, she has moved into 4th all-time in winnings.

That means after just 16 games, Schneider is only behind the trio of Ken Jennings, Holzhauer, and Matt Amodio. If she keeps winning with the totals she has earned throughout her streak, then Amodio and Holzhauer could be within reach.

The Oakland, California resident has been on a tear, and she looks to be going for as many wins as she can get. Jeopardy! greatest of all time, Ken Jennings had very kind words to say about the 16-time champion.

‘Jeopardy!’ Host Praises Champion Amy Schneider

In light of Schneider’s impressive run so far, host and official GOAT Ken Jennings had nothing but nice things to say. He has watched a lot of Jeopardy! and seen a couple of players take a run at his records. So, I think he would know a thing or two when it comes to great players.

“I don’t know about you, but as a Jeopardy! diehard myself, there is nothing I like more than watching a great champion play the game at such a high level of excellence as we’ve seen from our champion, Amy Schneider. She’s so impressive out here,” he lamented.

While Schneider has won $687,400 she has a long way to go to catch the closest on the list, Amodio at over $1.5 million. However, when it comes to win totals, she is eyeing some competitors already. She has won half as many games as Holzhauer who is third in all-time wins. With a few more wins under her belt, Schneider will be able to catch David Madden and Jason Zuffranieri at 19 wins and Julia Collins at 20 wins.

That will be easier said than done. If we have learned anything from this season it is that Jeopardy! is a fickle mistress. One bad game or one very good game from another contestant could be the end of it for any long-term champion. The streak continues!
