In the last few months, Jeopardy! fans have been dying for some stability. The permanent host was picked then let go almost immediately and no one knows what is next. As for right now, Mike Richards has been replaced with Ken Jennings with Mayim Bialik also filling in to finish the season. Fans are eager to see who is named the new permanent host after such a long wait.
In fact, fans are so concerned about the new host selection that they have taken to investigative efforts. Over on the Jeopardy! subreddit, one Redditor shared their findings with the world. It seemed to provide only a little insight, but viewers are taking anything they can get. Let the speculation continue, I guess.
User, u/Another_Throwaway18 posted on the subreddit and titled the post “There might be some subtle hints on the website as to who the new host(s) could be.” In the proceeding text, they laid out their findings. Most of it had to do with analyzing the pictures that the site is using. The user also went into the source code and looked at the titles of the images on the site.
“Most telling is that on the production team page. Ken’s photo has changed from these till used in season 37 promos to one of him when he was guest-hosting the show last season….if you actually look at the file name it is titled “JEP38_Site_MayimKenHosts%20Design.png”.”
While that isn’t the most conclusive information, other users appreciated the input. At this point, any information is going to be taken in from fans looking for answers to the host question.
‘Jeopardy!’ Champion Matt Amodio Doesn’t Care Who is Host
During all of this frustration and instability, there has been one constant, Matt Amodio. He has won twenty games in a row and doesn’t show signs of letting up. Through the guest hosts, Amodio was there. Now with the Mike Richards episodes, he is still going strong. If he makes it to the new Ken Jennings/Mayim Bialik shows, he would have played under a handful of hosts.
No matter the sport or game, the best of the best don’t need extra motivation. It doesn’t matter for Amodio who is the host of Jeopardy! is. His reply to having played under four hosts is just as good as any other elite player.
“Frankly, the last thing I’m thinking about when I’m in the middle of a game is who’s hosting.”
That is some Kobe, killer-instinct type mentality. Amodio has gone through a true test though. No other champion has had to go through what he has gone through with the hosting changes. Despite that, he has moved into the top-3 for consecutive wins ever on the show. He has almost won $800,000 and is on his way to making much more as he wins Jeopardy! games left and right.
