‘Jeopardy!’ Guest Host LeVar Burton Announced as 2022 Rose Bowl Grand Marshal

Adding another role to his extensive acting resume, Jeopardy! guest host LeVar Burton has been announced as the official Grand Marshal of the 2022 Rose Bowl parade.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former Jeopardy! guest host will lead the 133rd Rose Parade as it marches down Pasadena’s Colorado Boulevard on New Year’s Day (January 1st). The 2022 parade’s them is “Dream. Believe. Achieve.” 

The Rose Bowl parade organizers also announced the existing news about the Jeopardy! guest host’s upcoming duties on Instagram. “Together with Playosmo, our 2022 Grand Marshal, LeVar Burton, presents the ‘Dream. Believe. Achieve.’ Education All Stars. Tune in daily for dedicated posts honoring a select group of our nation’s teachers!”

The Jeopardy! guest host then took to Twitter to announce his excitement. “Proud to be Grand Marshal of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses celebrating this year’s theme ‘DREAM. BELIEVE. ACHIEVE.’ Highlighting our nation’s ‘Education All Stars’ TEACHERS!”

Along with the ‘Jeopardy!’ Guest Host, What Can Viewers Expect to See During the 2022 Rose Bowl Parade

Along with announcing Jeopardy! guest host LeVar Burton as the 2022 Rose Bowl Parade Grand Marshal, The Hollywood Reporter revealed what viewers can expect to see during the exciting event. 

The media outlet stated that viewers can expect to see parade floats from various hit TV shows. This includes ABC’s The Bachelor and Fox’s The Masked Singer. Other floats will be from nonprofits such as the AIDS Health Foundation, AMC Theatres, China Airlines, City of Hope, Louisiana Office of Tourism, and more. 

The Hollywood Reporter also announced that the 2022 Roses Queen is Los Angeles Senior High School student Nadia Chung. It was then reported that for the first time in the Rose Bowl Parade’s history, 270 of the top band directors across the U.S. and Mexico will come together to march as a band with the Michale D. Sewell Memorial Foundation Float. 

To add more excitement to the event, country singer LeAnn Rimes will reportedly kick off the parade with a special performance. She will perform Throw My Arms Around the World. Laine Hardy and the Hot 8 Brass Band will also perform during the mid-parade show. Finally, Jimmie Allen will conclude the parade with a grand finale performance. 

Following the Parade, the Ohio State University Buckeyes and the University of Utah Utes will go head to head during the 2022 Rose Bowl. The game will take place at 2 p.m. PT/ 5 p.m. ET at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl Stadium. The Whiteman Air Forces Base will conduct a flyover during the Rose Bowl parade and game. They will be using the B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber out of the 509th Bomb Wing.
