Mayim Bialik is a very busy woman these days. Not only is she hosting episodes of “Jeopardy!” she is also the star of her own sitcom.
That sitcom is “Call Me Kat” and, according to Deadline, this show will return for its second season on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022. The comedy airs on FOX.
The second season of the popular “Jeopardy!” host’s comedy series will debut almost one year to the day of the premiere of its very first episode. The premiere of “Call Me Kat” took place on Jan. 3, 2021, with an episode titled, “Plus One.”
The first season of this Mayim Bialik-led television series consisted of 13 episodes. The final episode of the show’s first season aired on March 25, 2021.
This FOX sitcom focuses on the “Jeopardy!” host’s character, whose name, unsurprisingly, is Kat. When the sitcom begins, Kat is 39 years old and is not married. So, she decides to take the money her parents had set aside for her wedding and use the funds to start a business. But she doesn’t just open any business. Kat decides to open a restaurant with a cat-related theme.
In addition Mayim Bialik, the cast of “Call Me Kat” includes some very popular actors. Making viewers laugh along with Bialik are Swoosie Kurtz as Sheila, Leslie Jordan as Phil, Cheyenne Jackson as Max, Kyla Pratt as Randi, and Julian Gant as Carter.
Bialik, of course, is a veteran of comedic television. She was one of the stars of the wildly popular sitcom, “The Big Bang Theory.” Also, as a young actress, she played the lead role in the sitcom “Blossom.”
In addition to being a popular actress, Mayim Bialik is also a scholar. She received a Ph.D. in neuroscience.
Mayim Bialik One of Many People Paying Tribute to Late ‘Jeopardy!’ Host Alex Trebek on the Anniversary of His Death
It was cancer that claimed Trebek’s life. He was 80 years old at the time of his death. And he passed away on Nov. 8, 2020.
On the first anniversary of Alex Trebek’s death, Mayim Bialik and many others paid tribute to the late host. Bialik chose to share her emotional tribute to Trebek on social media.
“Remembering the passing of the great Alex Trebek a year ago today,” Bialik began her tribute.
Next, she shared some of the qualities she admired in the late “Jeopardy!” host. “Alex was a legendary entertainer, philanthropist, and lover of life. We miss you, Alex,” Bialik also posted.
