It’s too bad being punny can’t earn you extra points on Jeopardy!. If it could, Matt Amodio would only extend his winning streak that much further. As Amodio’s triumph on the beloved trivia game show continues, thousands of fans are rallying behind him, including co-host Mayim Bialik. Tomorrow is the first in which we’ll see Bialik and Amodio together on the Jeopardy! set, and from the looks of it, the two already have a great rapport.
Besides her role next to Ken Jennings at the forefront of Jeopardy!, Bialik has an impressive rap sheet on and off-screen. From her star role on Big Bang Theory, most recent role in Call Me Kat and doctoral degree in neuroscience, Bialik is the result of when pop culture meets technical science. If there’s any leading lady best fit for the role on the game show’s stage, it’s the actress and neuroscientist herself.
Bialik’s qualifications for the job don’t just end with her occupational roles. Like the late and great Alex Trebek, Bialik knows how to engage with her guests and keep the audience entertained. She and Amodio gave fans a taste of what’s to come in her recent exchange with the Jeopardy! champ over Twitter.
Amodio, thrilled to finally meet the Jeopardy! co-host, tweeted about his anticipation for the coming week’s episodes with Bialik. He referenced her role as Amy Farrah Fowler on Big Bang Theory, stating “let’s start off the week with a bang!”
The pun was not lost on the witty woman. Equally as excited to see Amodio in action, Bialik responded with a few jokes of her own.
“I see what you did there Let’s see if you win BIG !? Based on your @Jeopardy winning streak, my theory is that there’s a good chance,” Bialik wrote.
‘Jeopardy!’ Announces Airing of Episodes Starring Co-Host Mayim Bialik
Amodio wasn’t the only one excited about his first episode with Bialik. Jeopardy!, too, boasted about the new co-host’s debut appearance at the front of the stage. Since Mike Richard’s departure from the role, she and former champ Ken Jennings have taken over hosting duties for the trivia game show until the end of the year. However, up until tomorrow, Jennings has been Amodio’s gracious host. Now, the roles will reverse to give Bialik the chance to bond with competitors and take the show to greater heights.
Of course, Jeopardy! couldn’t miss an opportunity to celebrate the official announcement of the co-hosts’ positions.
Likewise, Bialik is just as excited for the brief but honorable position as a co-host for the remainder of 2021.
“My @Jeopardy episodes start airing tomorrow!! So excited to get to keep doing this #Jeopardy work which I love so much. And thank you @KenJennings, the living legend, who will be tackling hosting duties for the next few months as well!” Bialik tweeted.
