America is celebrating two of its most beloved game show hosts today and by the headline, you already know one of them. In true “Jeopardy!” fashion, why don’t we turn the other one into a little puzzle to solve? Your clue is as follows: This man served as a naval aviator during WWII and went on to host the longest-running daytime game show in North American TV history. Cue the “Jeopardy!” music because your time starts now… And for the metaphorical $1000 Daily Double, “Who is Bob Barker?” takes the cake!
That’s right, both hosts are celebrating another trip around the sun today. But Mayim Bialik being the humble host she is, wants to take the focus off of her and put it somewhere else. This year, the now-46-year-old star opted to raise awareness for a whole slew of charities while offering her thanks for all the birthday wishes from fans.
The “Jeopardy!” Host Wants to Do Her Part In Offering the Midwest Some Relief Following the Deadly Storms and Rising Death Toll
This is the tweet that Mayim Bialik shared with her followers offering up some ideas about how to provide our Midwest folks some relief. The death toll tragically continues to mount in the aftermath of a group of deadly storms that swept through the area this week.
Check it out:
She urges her fans to “give what you can” because, ultimately, “we are all in this together.” She then leaves several links to charities like the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, Together Rising, and World Vision USA. You can read about some of the other disaster-aid groups that are mobilizing here.
Both the President and Jeff Bezos have responded to the tragedy by pledging their support. New satellite images began surfacing recently that showed the extent of the damages to one of Bezos’ warehouses. With the incredible magnitude of the tornado that hit the Illinois warehouse, many are saying the structure never stood a chance.
Mayim Bialik Also Raises Awareness for Animal Welfare
As you can see, the “Jeopardy!” host often uses her social media platform to raise awareness for causes that she is passionate about. A few days ago, Bialik drew attention to the bear bile industry of Vietnam which is known for its cruel practices. In fact, it’s nearly eradicated the Moon Bear species from the planet.
You can read more about it in her tweet:
Many moon bears are languishing on bile farms in Vietnam. Please join me and @AnimalsAsia to end this cruel trade: #RaiseYourPaw and sign the #MoonBearPledge https://t.co/Q4aEbtlGzn . Together, let’s make history, end bear bile farming and rescue these beautiful bears. pic.twitter.com/bc9Bp82npO— Mayim Bialik (@missmayim) December 10, 2021
