As many fans know, James Holzhauer is a huge sports fan. The Jeopardy! champ was paying attention to the College Football Playoff tonight.
Going into the games tonight, the question was whether or not the SEC teams would dominate. It really seems like that’s the case. Alabama handled Cincinnati 27-6. They didn’t allow a single touchdown and found the endzone three times. Despite the fact Bama whiffed a kick, laces in, they persevered and are moving on.
Holzhauer was not too excited by that game or the first half of the Michigan vs Georgia game. When the teams went back to the locker rooms at the break, the Bulldogs were up 27-3. Check out his tweet below and see the Jeopardy! wisecrack for yourself.
“I’ve seen [Amy Schneider] games that were more competitive than these CFP semis,” the tweet says. In all fairness, Schneider has been winning games by thousands and thousands of dollars. It hasn’t really been that close in many of her games.
Schneider has been winning Jeopardy! games unlike many other contestants before her. However, Holzhauer also knows a thing or two about blowing opponents out in the competition. His run on the show was one of the most legendary in the history of the show. His win totals were astronomical.
These CFP games are just not as exciting as many hoped they would be. Holzhauer isn’t the only college football fan that will be disappointed in these semifinal games.
Amy Schneider Last Minute Answer Change
In her last game, Schneider had some trouble separating herself from the competition. During the final Jeopardy! question, the champ dodged a bullet. Her answer was changed to “Scott” just in time. Host Ken Jennings noted the change in answer. He has gotten into quite a rhythm since taking over hosting duties.
Had Schneider not changed her answer, it would have been the end of her streak. However, she was able to get it done under pressure. Her streak has extended to 22 games. While she had a bit of a down game, is it possible that she is going to keep things going? Matt Amodio’s record of 38 doesn’t seem so far away now. Just 10 more games until she ties James Holzhauer at 32 games.
One thing is for sure, Schneider is going to keep trying to break records and make history on Jeopardy!
‘Jeopardy!’ Contestants Miss NY Politician Question
While on her historic run, not everything has been easy for Schneider and her fellow contestants. There have been questions that have stumped entire panels of contestants. One question doubled as a current-event and political history question. It was a question that even perplexed the New York native, Ben Walthall.
The question was about who the first woman governor of the state of New York is. Of course, it is Kathy Hochul who just succeeded ex-Governor Andrew Cuomo. You can’t win them all, I suppose.
