Actress Jeanine Ann Rose passed away in her Los Angeles home on New Year’s day after battling an infection. Rose was well-known for her role as Little Violet Bick in the long-standing holiday classic It’s a Wonderful Life.

Now, one of Jeanine Ann Rose’s It’s A Wonderful Life co-stars is speaking out about the loss of her friend.

“She was a delightful woman,” says Karolyn Grimes who starred alongside Rose’s Little VIotle as George Bailey’s young daughter, ZuZu.

“She was very intelligent,” Grimes continues of her costar.

“She grew up and only did one movie, ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,’” She adds. “She went on to do radio and was on ‘The Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show’ for years.”

The eighty-one-year-old It’s A Wonderful Life player went on to note that Jeanine Ann Rosoe’s life was one of great accomplishment.

After deciding to leave acting, Rose went on to find a career in a field for which she felt great passion.

“She then eventually decided that it wasn’t really the way she wanted to live her life,” Karolyn Grimes says of Rose’s acting career.

“So, she got an education and became a psychologist,” the It’s A Wonderful Life star continues.

“She wanted to help humanity,” Grimes explains. She then adds that helping people was Roose’s number one goal.

“She wanted to help people feel good about themselves,” says Grimes. “She really was a lovely lady.”

Roose’s Legacy Spans Beyond ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’

Jeanine Ann Roose found fame at a young age in the 1940s and 1950s. She landed her first acting job on The Jack Benny Program at the tender age of eight. Roose also appeared on The Fitch Bandwagon; however, her role in It’s A Wonderful Life as Little Violet is Roose’s only film credit, according to Deadline.

According to Karolyn Grimes, Jeanine Roose kept fairly busy after she left acting to attend UCLA where she found her passion while earning her degree as a Jungian psychoanalyst.

Grimes notes that the pair reconnected when they met at a Missouri convention years after their time playing in It’s A Wonderful Life.

In fact, the pair became so close after they reconnected that Roose served as a board member for ZuZu’s House. This is an organization created to help homeless and vulnerable teens in Marshfield Missouri.

The organization’s memorable name comes from Grimes’s beloved It’s A Wonderful Life character, Zuzu. Grimes also serves as chairman of the organization.

All of this, Karolyn Grimes notes, goes to show what a giving and caring person Roose was.

“She helped so many people over the years,” says Grimes of her friend. Adding that her friendship with Roose is something she will always cherish.

“She became a dear friend of mine,” the actress continues. “She was simply wonderful.”
