Kelly Ripa and Husband Mark Consuelos Throw it Back to the 1940s for Halloween Costumes

by Matthew Memrick

Kelly Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, don’t mess around when it comes to Halloween and throwback 1940s costumes.

The social media mavens posted an Instagram photo of themselves in front of a staircase dressed as 1940s characters. Ripa was the classic flapper with her hat, dress, and white gloves. Consuelos donned the gray suit with the black vest.

Over 120,000 Instagram folks liked the photo.

One fan joked that “they didn’t wear pants that tight in the ’40s.”

TV host Andy Cohen also chimed in and wrote: “Daddy’s pants.”

That got a rise out of Ripa, who simply quipped: “It’s a Halloween tradition.”

That comment came with laughter and applause emojis.

Right before Halloween, the 41-year-old Ripa shared a photo from the family’s successful pumpkin carving.

Ripa’s show, “Live With Kelly and Ryan,” had a unique Halloween costume tribute. Some fans even look forward to it, dressing up to sit in the crowd.

The stars put together an “Out of This World” extravaganza of costumes, according to ABC 7

At first, they work spacesuits for a Halloween outer space trip. Then, they traversed through time and space to become Jetsons. After being introduced as the famous animated cartoon characters, the duo mixed in costumed “The Queen’s Gambit” and “Squid Game” videos.

In all, they wore 40 costumes for a show that takes several days.

“I never know what this show was until I watch it backstage while we’re changing,” Ripa told Eyewitness News Entertainment Reporter Sandy Kenyon. “Then I’m like, ‘Oh, that’s what you wanted me to do?!’ I never fully understand the concept.”

Family Halloween Fun Over The Years

Over the years, the Ripa-Consuelos children have appeared on Ripa’s show.

As they’ve grown, the proud mom showed off footage of her kids dressed in costumes along with dad Consuelos during a segment of the show.

As they’ve gotten older, mom Ripa has tried to do less on the show about her kids. The kids have set up some boundaries that she said she wants to follow.

She told Hello! Magazine “it would be very unfair to use my bullhorn to discuss somebody that did not want to be discussed.”

But lately, Michael Consuelos, an actor in his own right, has talked about how he’s appreciated his famous parents.

“They’re great, not just in like a relationship sense, but they’re great role models,” Michael Consuelos told Entertainment Tonight. “I try to conduct myself the way I think they would.”

With their kids grown, the celebrity couple is taking vacations and enjoying time with each other.

And they’re letting the world know about it on Instagram.

In August, the two lounged on a couch. They weren’t about the smiling, but they looked relaxed in a candid shot.
