The wait is nearly over. It was only a one-week break, but for Law & Order devotees, it was an eternity. Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay will be returning to TV screens in all-new episodes of SVU and Organized Crime this Thursday.
The official Law & Order Instagram account shared a teaser trailer for the upcoming episodes. On Law & Order: Organized Crime, we left Stabler dealing with some problems on the homefront thanks to his son, Eli. However, if that wasn’t enough, his undercover Eddie Wagner persona was inches away from being compromised by Jon Kosta and the Albanian mob.
Over on SVU, we had the landmark 500th episode. It was very appropriately titled “The Five Hundredth Episode.” The episode saw the return of some familiar faces in Nick Amaro (Danny Pino) and a former fling of Benson’s in Burton Lowe, played by Aidan Quinn.
Buckle your seatbelts, Outsiders. We’re in for a bumpy ride come Thursday night. It looks like the one-week hiatus will have been well worth our while based on the teaser trailer. For example, it shows Benson and Rollins struggling to comprehend what can only be a horrific crime scene. Meanwhile, Stabler and Bell get action-movied by a huge storefront explosion that sends them flying.
“I’ve been doing this for over 20 years. I’ve never seen anything like this,” says Benson in the trailer.
And it’s safe to say some major things are developing on Organized Crime as the noose tightens around Jon Kosta.
“We’re almost where we need to be to bring them down,” says Stabler of the Albanian crime family he’s been infiltrating through the first part of Season 2.
‘Law & Order: SVU’ Cast Member Demore Barnes Talks Working with Mariska Hargitay
Demore Barnes joined the Law & Order: SVU cast for the past two seasons. His Deputy Chief Christian Garland character started in a minor role but got bumped up to a series regular after a short time. However, he had to get over being a bit starstruck by longtime SVU staples Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T before he could settle into his position.
“Well, my first day on set was with Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T, and that was pretty thrilling. It was exciting, and it was a little nerve-wracking because, you know, I sort of show up finally in the SVU house. And my nervousness was quickly allayed by both Ice and Mariska,” Barnes told Starry Magazine in January.
So what’s it like working with legends like Olivia Benson actor Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T? Well, for Demore Barnes, the two Law & Order veterans couldn’t have been better.
“As I said before in another interview, they couldn’t be more gracious or warmer and actually just remarkably down to earth,” he continued.
