‘Law & Order: Organized’ Crime Boss Teases Richard Wheatley’s Return

by Anna Dunn

The Law & Order: Organized Crime showrunner just teased what Richard Wheatley’s return is going to be like. Now that the Kosta Organization arc is coming to a close, fans are excited for the next chapter this season. It looks like that’s going to involve the return of Elliot Stabler’s ultimate foe.

“Wheatley is back in Episode 9 and will be with us for a good, intense run,” showrunner Ilene Chaiken teased to Yahoo!.

“I don’t want to tell you too much because that would just be spoilers and giveaways. But Wheatley remains confident, manipulative and strategic,” she continued when asked if Richard Wheatley’s been stewing being all locked up.

Right now, Stabler and the rest of the team are awaiting Richard Wheatley’s trial. Stabler, of course, had an intense game of cat and mouse with Wheatley for the entirety of season 1. Dylan McDermott’s part as Wheatley was reportedly intended for one season, but fans liked his performance so much that they’ve extended it.

Dylan McDermott Loves Doing Scenes with Chris Meloni

Another reason that fans are so excited for McDermott’s return is it’s clear he works well with Stabler actor Christopher Meloni. In one interview, the actor discussed how he felt about working with Meloni.

“Chris and I speak the same language. We went to the same acting school in New York, the Neighborhood Playhouse. I knew going into it that I would have to be formidable to go up against him. We would talk about the scenes, and we’d go through them beat by beat,” he explained in an interview with Parade.

His new arc, and the fact that he’s going to be in many episodes, spells potential trouble for his upcoming trial. If Wheatley finds a way to get his freedom, chaos will break loose. The upcoming episode will also see the return of Angela Wheatley and Elliot Stabler’s clean-shaven face.

One ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Character is in for a Re-adjustment Period

Elliot Stabler has absolutely spiraled this season. it’s clear that there’s a lot of issues he’s suffering from that he hasn’t properly dealt with, and his time undercover proved to be a lot for him. When he returns to “normal life,” he’s in for a re-adjustment period.

Stabler will also re-unite with Benson and fans are keeping a close eye on the two. A lot of fans are wondering about a potential romance between the two. They’ve been working together on and off for the better part of a decade, and have always seemed to have a special connection.
