“Law & Order: Organized Crime” just isn’t the same without Dylan McDermott’s Richard Wheatley causing utter chaos for Christopher Meloni’s Elliot Stabler. McDermott’s character is just so good at being bad and you have to admit, the chemistry between them there is palpable. The good news is that we’re less than a month away from his comeback to Dick Wolf’s universe. And in the meantime, we’ve got plenty of other McDermott content to soak up with his “King Richard” project.
A snap from the star today, November 19th, celebrates the theatrical and streaming debut of “King Richard” with Dylan McDermott in costume. He rocks yellow aviators and a subtle mustache to let everyone know that the HBO flick is available now.
Check it out:
And this isn’t the only time that the star has lent his sultry stare to social media. Back in September, he channeled his inner Jon Voight in a Western showdown ahead of his “Midnight Cowboy” project. The dramatic Instagram spoof really showed off the star’s often subtle humor.
At the end of the day, his sports agent look for “King Richard” might actually be my favorite McDermott look yet. What’s more, is that the project sees him acting alongside Hollywood big shot Will Smith.
The film talks a big game too saying it’s “based on the true story that will inspire the world.”
So, what’s it about?
Dylan McDermott’s Latest Project Tells the Story of Venus and Serena Williams
At its core, “King Richard” is a story about Outsiders. And in case you haven’t noticed, that’s kind of our thing. We root for the underdogs and those trying to make a difference against stacked odds. The ugly duckling? An outsider. The Island of Misfit Toys from Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer’s adventures? Outsiders. Even Shaquille O’Neal opened up about his own outsider lifestyle recently discussing why he wants to distance himself from “celebrities.”
Shaquille O’Neal is obviously a big name when it comes to sports and he built that career through blood, sweat, and tears. Well, the same thing can be said for the Williams sisters and tennis. “King Richard” looks at the story of Venus and Serena and their pain-staking journey to prove themselves among a community and world of doubt.
Here’s the trailer for the film in case you missed it:
“It feels so good to be alive.” Based on the true story of Venus and Serena Williams that will inspire the world, watch the new trailer for #KingRichard, starring Will Smith and featuring “Be Alive” by Beyoncé.
