‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Fans Have Lots of Questions About This Surprising Scene

by John Jamison

Elliot Stabler has come a long way since his early days with the Special Victims Unit. Christopher Meloni’s iconic character is a full-on action hero in Season 2 of Law & Order: Organized Crime. His undercover work with the Albanian mob has given us all sorts of intense situations. But one is head and shoulders above the rest.

Imagine the shock on fans’ faces when they witnessed Elliot Stabler, masquerading as Eddie Wagner, whip out a rocket launcher at the gas station. That’s exactly what happened in episode 2 of Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 2. And fans are in equal parts surprised and impressed to see the show take things this far.

One Redditor was kind enough to post a still from the episode.

Other fans thanked Racc_Maverick for doing such great work before weighing in on the wild situation.

“Yeah that’s a major plot hole in the season, but a fun one. Love the scene. That clerk in the gas station would have totally posted the camera footage online and title it ‘Guy with Rocket Launcher at Gas Station’ and people would have been commenting ‘I know that guy he’s a cop with the NYPD,'” writes RinardoEvoris.

The comment raises a good point. Waltzing around in public with a rocket launcher while undercover is an excellent way to get your cover blown.

There’s also the ridiculous nature of the situation compared to the Law & Order of the past. 1999 Elliot Stabler couldn’t have imagined wielding a rocket launcher. Give a franchise enough time, and they’ll always find a way to raise the stakes even higher. Just look at the Fast & Furious movies. In 2001, it was the story of an undercover cop infiltrating an illegal racing ring. These days—well, the characters are trying to save the world.

‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Fans Loving Another Aspect of Season 2

Plenty has been said about Elliot Stabler’s undercover arc to begin Season 2 of Law & Order: Organized Crime. But fans have been blown away by the sheer number of quality characters on the show. Eddie Wagner’s rocket launcher isn’t the only thing making waves.

Many fans have found themselves toward the staple tech character Jet Slootmaekers. She is portrayed by Ainsley Seiger and has made quite the impact through the first 16 episodes of the show. Couple that with the rise of Stabler’s partner, Ayanna Bell (Danielle Truitt), and the future of Law & Order: Organized Crime looks promising indeed.

“This is the crime fighting of the future, and the future is female. I also love how Bell’s character is developing. The portrayal of her balancing being tough and diplomatic while overcoming obstacles of race and sexuality I think is pretty realistic,” writes laperla312 on Reddit.
