‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’: Stabler Has a Lot on His Mind in New Clip

by Joe Rutland

It appears, “Law & Order: Organized Crime” fans, that our man Stabler has a lot on his mind these days on the NBC crime drama.

Well, you would, too, if you’re trying to figure out your next move while working underground.

Detective Elliot Stabler, played by Chris Meloni, has got his hands full.

Let’s take a look at this video released on the “Law & Order” Twitter account on Monday. It’s about four-plus minutes, so give yourself a little time. Stabler’s going through some things.

When the clip opens up, we see Stabler being met by his mother Bernadette Stabler. Veteran actress Ellyn Burstyn reprises her role from not only “Organized Crime” but from “SVU.”

Oh, and in case you missed it (which would be hard to do), Mariska Hargitay appears as Sergeant Olivia Benson in this clip, too. Benson pleads for Stabler “to come home” especially after she discovers his son, Eli, had taken some pills out.

This storyline is definitely picking up steam. What will it all lead to on “Law & Order: Organized Crime”? Well, you will have to tune in on Thursday night. “SVU” and “Organized Crime” air back to back with “SVU at 9 p.m. Eastern, followed by “Organized Crime” at 10 p.m. Eastern on NBC.

‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Started Working On His Craft In New York City

When you look at the work Meloni did years ahead of joining “Law & Order: Organized Crime,” he honed his skills with intention.

Meloni is a native of Washington, D.C. His high school time included a stint playing football in Alexandria, Va.

Then Meloni went to the University of Colorado at Boulder and entered his first acting class. A trip to Los Angeles let him try out some acting skills. It didn’t work so he went back to school in Colorado.

Meloni really started getting his acting chops in shape at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City.

He graduated in 1983 from UC-Boulder. Then he went to the New York school.

Show’s Executive Producer Talks About Bringing Burstyn Back

Guess who also attended the school? None other than “Law & Order: Organized Crime” bad guy Dylan McDermott. He went there upon graduation from University in 1983.

Now, Outsiders, we turn our attention to Burstyn and the early part of Season 2. How did it come about? So, executive producer Ilene Chaiken talked with TVLine about what to expect.

Stabler has been working undercover while dealing with his dead wife. His kids are dealing with it, too.

Chaiken said Stabler is somewhat of an absent father, especially for his son Eli.

Burstyn comes in to help as Bernadette. It marked the first time she’s been back in 13 years.
