Law & Order: Organized Crime star Christopher Meloni spent national daughter’s day in the best way possible.

He was outdoors, on a boat, with daughter Sophia. Maybe they were just relaxing in the sun. Perhaps they did a bit of fishing. No matter, it was a resplendent kind of day.

Meloni posted a photo of the two of them to Instagram. He captioned it: “#nationaldaughtersday ??. Ok, this is how I was lucky enough to spend it.”

Law & Order: Organized Crime Star Brought Daughter As Date to Golden Globes

The Law & Order: Organized Crime star shares two children with his wife, Sherman. Sophia is 20. Son Dante is 17. He has a terrific relationship with both. In fact, Meloni took Sophia as his plus-one to this year’s Golden Globes. Meloni was there to present the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries, or TV Movie. And he also was at one of the biggest awards show to prime everyone for then new series Law & Order: Organized Crime. The actor known most as Elliot Stabler received a standing ovation, especially from the New York first responders who were invited to the ceremony at the Rainbow Room. Meloni and Sophia also walked the red carpet, snapping selfies along the way.

Meloni has such a close relationship with Sophia that he once told a reporter she needs to give him approval on his clothing selection before he leaves the house for a function or a work trip. He often is called a “Zaddy” for his looks and great fashion style. However, Meloni credits the women in the family for making him look good.

“Before I leave the house I go, “This is what I’m packing,” the Law & Order: Organized Crime star said in 2014. “I unzip my bag and show it to my 13-year-old daughter. I don’t shop.”

That same year, Meloni talked about the relationship he has with Sophia and Dante.

“I think my kids would call me a little crazy,” he told USA Today. “I’m very physical, very affectionate. I’m also very disciplined and focused on education. That’s one thing that was instilled in me, one place in life where there’s no compromise.”
