The holiday season is a time of celebrating and gift-giving and reconnecting with family for so many folks. However, everyone’s holiday season is not the same, and Law & Order: Organized Crime star Danielle Mone Truitt recognizes that.

In an effort to give back and help others this holiday season, Truitt plans to help the homeless community this holiday season.

In a post on her personal Instagram, Truitt wrote, “Christmas is my FAVORITE holiday! For the past few years I have joined my Bestie @mrsmelo_79 in purchasing goods to make gift bags for the homeless. I had a few friends donate to the effort and we blessed A LOT of people. This year my schedule won’t allow me to shop and gather goods to pass out but I still wanted to make sure I was giving. I remember when I was a child and our family was struggling financially. We were adopted by another family for Christmas. They came over on Christmas Day and brought us gifts and clothes. I will never ever forget that. I still remember the nikes and sweat suit they bought for me.”

How She Will Get Involved

The Law & Order star Truitt revealed that Christmas time is her favorite time of the year. Although she cannot be there physically to hand out presents. She still wanted to make it a point to give back. She also revealed a story about her childhood. It was how her family was sponsored by another family during Christmas time. How much they blessed her and her family during a difficult time.

Her caption continued, “So this Christmas I’m partnering with @blackfairygodmotherfoundation to help fulfill a wish list for a family this year! If you want to join me please click the link in my bio and purchase an item on this families wishlist. It’s a super easy way to bless a family, give hope and make a lasting impression on a child, like that family did on me!”

Truitt will be partnering with the foundation to ensure a family’s wish list is taken care of and encourages her followers to get involved as well.

Her Future on ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’

Truitt has flourished on the NBC drama alongside Chris Meloni. However, it is fair to wonder how long she will be a main cast member on the program. She told Starry Mag, “I think that once the show is going on for so long and you’re doing kinda the same thing every week—you know with actors, you’re doing the same thing every day—week after week. And it’s 22 episodes “So the biggest challenge is making sure that I’m being honest as an actor and that I’m putting in the work that I need to be put in,’ she said. “You know, for this character to come to life. And it doesn’t just become this mundane thing.”

Her costar Meloni went through the same thing and eventually left the program. It should be interesting to see how long the star remains on the NBC drama.
