It is certainly one of the most complicated storylines on prime-time this year as Dean McDermott takes on the Law & Order universe playing Law & Order: Organized Crime’s malicious drug kingpin and mob boss, Richard Wheatley.
Now, as the newest Law & Order series, Organized Crime continues, crossover episodes with Law & Order: SVU bring in a whole slew of character dynamics. This comes as players from both hit NBC shows come together with some interesting, and often conflicting storylines. Among these characters facing core differences are Richard Wheatley’s wife, Angela, and SVU player, Olivia Benson.
Viewers found quite a few unexpected revelations in the newest episode. These came as fans tuned in for the Law & Order: Organized Crime and Law & Order: SVU crossover this week. Many of these came from Richard Wheatley’s wife Tamara Taylor’s Angela Wheatley.
Included in these revelations is how Angela Wheatley views her relationship with Detective Elliot Stabler. Stabler, as we know, was determined to take McDermott’s Richard Wheatley down for the murder of his wife, Kathy.
Determined, that is, until he learns Angela was actually the person who ordered the hit on Kathy Stabler. A shocking revelation that left viewers reeling.
Especially after many of the fans are getting used to the strong bond forming between Angela and Stabler.
This certainly brings in many levels of complications. Adding to an already complicated situation.
And, when it comes to anything involving Chris Meloni’s Elliot Stabler, there’s always another player involved in the mix: Law & Order: SVU’s Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay).
‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ and ‘SVU’ Puts Angela And Olivia Together
So, what does this mean for the two characters as they come together in a Law & Order: Organized Crime and SVU crossover event? Also, are things between Olivia Benson and Angela Wheatley fairly friendly and easy to handle?
“I don’t think that they’re archenemies,” Tamara Taylor says of Angela Wheatley’s relationship with Olivia Benson.
“Benson’s just amazingly compassionate,” the Law & Order: Organized Crime star adds in an interview with TV Line. “She’s a grown-up, and understands that life can be messy and weird.”
“I think Angela is well aware of what Benson means to Stabler,” Taylor adds. “And who she is to him.”
The Law & Order actress also adds that all it really comes down to is the fact the two characters on the popular primetime NBC dramas, have bigger fish to fry…they aren’t going to be spending their time on issues between each other.
“We’re just grown women,” Taylor explains. “We don’t have to be fighting.”
