‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’: Will Stabler Be Able To Turn on Reggie After Undercover Work Is Done?

by John Jamison

“Law & Order: Organized Crime” star Christopher Meloni’s iconic character has enough complex relationship problems to last a lifetime. Forget about the fact that Stabler essentially confessed his love for Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson. He’s got a lot more on his mind, like how ugly his exit will be from the Albanian crime world he infiltrated.

Of course, the likes of underboss Albi Briscu (Vinnie Jones) and his nephew Reggie Bogdani (Dash Mihok) are the very people Stabler is out to destroy. But Stabler appears to be forming quite the bond with the latter during his undercover work. Their relationship has led fans to wonder if Stabler will do what needs to be done when the time comes.

A Redditor named LilLexi20 posed a question to fellow “Law & Order: Organized Crime” fans along those same lines.

“Does anybody else think that come the end of the season Stabler will have a hard time ‘turning’ on Reggie?” the question reads.

The Redditor provided some context for why they thought the question was relevant.

“I don’t know why I feel this way, maybe it’s because stabler is actually seeming to enjoy the ‘mob life’ with these guys, but something tells me he will struggle with seeing Reggie go to prison,” the post continued.

It’s a reasonable concern. Meloni’s Stabler is committed to his law enforcement profession on a moral basis. But he hasn’t exactly been stable since making his return. Plus, he’s struck up quite the friendship with Reggie while working undercover as Eddie Wagner.

‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Fans Have Some Ideas For How Stabler and Reggie Will Play Out

Some other “Law & Order: Organized Crime” fans brought up some good points, too. It may not matter what Stabler thinks once Reggie discovers he’s an undercover cop. For someone leading a life of crime, that kind of betrayal is unforgivable.

Beyond that, there are some serious barriers to a Stabler-Reggie friendship. For one, the Albanians appear to be involved in a human trafficking operation. It’s hard to believe Elliot Stabler would ever want to associate with someone capable of participating in that.

“I originally believed Stabler would try to save Reggie as a ‘just following orders’ dolt, but with Reggie’s eye for teenage girls, I think that’s gone out the window,” writes miss_scarlet_letter in response to the original post.

Short of an actual friendship is a handful of other options, though. Maybe Reggie isn’t so far gone. Perhaps he could still turn his life around. At least one fan thinks that could happen. Well, to some degree.

“I’m hoping he can flip Reggie, him getting a lesser sentence or possibly WITSEC will be alot better than seeing him killed off,” writes zombhunter45.
