When someone finds their Christmas spirit, it’s worth noting. Especially if that person happens to be Law & Order: SVU star BD Wong.

Wong, who played FBI Special Agent George Huang, shared a photo on his Instagram account.

Wong first appeared on SVU in Season 2 and left after Season 17. He filled the roles of a forensic psychiatrist and criminal profiler.

Even without Wong, Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T are the show’s main stars.

Among Wong’s other roles are Father Ray Mukada on Oz, Dr. Henry Wu in the Jurassic Park franchise of films, and Hugo Strange in Gotham.

Law & Order: SVU remains a powerhouse for NBC and Dick Wolf.

Right now, the show is on a bit of a hiatus before next year. Reruns of SVU air on a number of cable television networks.

Will Wong return at some point to SVU? We do not know that for sure, Outsiders.

‘Law & Order: SVU’ Star Has His Reasons For Leaving Successful Crime Drama

Most actors who leave highly-successful shows like Law & Order: SVU has their reasons for doing so. What about BD Wong?

Reportedly, the actor just left and never shared a concrete reason. His time on the show had whittled down but Wong very much added quality of professionalism.

He did have a cameo in Season 17, but that was it. Huang started getting phased out of SVU.

Wong played Huang for 230 episodes.

An article from Looper states that he left to pursue another successful role.

Wong Initially Left In 2011 So He Could Pursue Other Projects

Benson often turned to Huang for an understanding as to “why” people committed the horrible crimes they did. As a psychiatrist, Huang held a clearer understanding of motivations with people’s actions.

When did he first appear? In Season 2, then showing up consistently throughout episodes until Season 12.

Wong left in Season 13 in 2011 to pursue different projects. He appeared as a therapist in the NBC drama Awake, which premiered in 2012.

But viewership was not solid and the program got canceled after one season.

The actor then would appear sporadically in Season 15 of Law & Order: SVU as Huang.

Wong’s total of 230 episodes does rank among the most for actors that have appeared on SVU.

SVU star Hargitay had 500 total appearances back in October.

The show has gone through a few changes over the years, most notably when Chris Meloni, who plays Detective Elliot Stabler, left.

After being away for a number of years, Meloni return to the Law & Order franchise to star in Organized Crime. Still, viewers tune in to see what crimes the team is tackling.
