You’re not going to find many other television characters like Benson and Stabler on Law & Order: SVU. They were two iconic characters that will never be able to be replaced. Even though Stabler is back in the universe on the spin-off Organized Crime, the chances of Benson and Stabler ever roaming the streets of New York City on SVU like old times is highly unlikely. However, that does not mean fans can’t reminisce about the old days. So, some Law & Order: SVU fans debated Benson’s and Stable’s defining moment on the show.

The conversation came via Reddit. One user wrote when the question was posed to the message board, “Fault. All of Fault. You could do an entire top ten list of EO scenes just from that episode alone lol. The episode on its own is a pretty classic relationship/romantic arc — they fight, there’s miscommunications, they “break up”, they protect each other, etc.”

Another fan wrote, “I thought the ‘I love you’ was very good and very them, prob my new favorite. But used to be the stand off scene in fault, specifically when she whispers ‘i would’ve done the same thing.'”

There is no unanimous verdict on the matter, but the episode “Wildlife” was certainly a popular choice.

Will Benson And Stabler Get Together on ‘Law & Order: SVU’

Will they or won’t they? That’s what everyone is curious about with Benson and Stabler. The chemistry between the two characters on-screen has always been there. However, nothing has ever come from that. The two have never been linked romantically, but perhaps that can change with Stabler back in the Law & Order universe. Perhaps now things could be different for Stabler and Benson. Early returns suggest there is something there between the two of them.

Hargitay said, “It’s all underneath percolating.” Some very choice words we’d say, right, Outsiders? She continued, “Right now after Stabler being gone for 10 years and the way that he left and the complexity of what’s happened and how he came back surprising me, we’re still finding our way.”

It’s all still very fresh. The duo is finding their ground with one another. It’s complicated with the two of them, but that has always been the case and will continue to be the case.

She continued, “But it’s complex and real, and I think what I love about it most is that it’s earned. This relationship is truly earned. Not a lot of people have a 23-year relationship.” Earned is the right word here, as they have the connection built on years and years of friendship and trust. Now, it’s imperative that fans trust the show to see this through but only time will tell in the Law & Order universe.
