Law & Order: SVU fans have taken to Reddit to recall all of the rule-breaking Benson and Stabler got away with in the show’s early years. Now, the show tries to be more true to reality. But in the early years of Law & Order: SVU, Benson, and Stabler were quick to break Cragen’s rules.
A new Reddit thread called, “Olivia and Elliot Used to Get Away with So Much,” discussed this.
A meme points out that Cragen just told them they used their final “get out of jail free card,” but it’s clear Olivia and Elliot never paid too much attention to the rules.
“The way they didn’t even flinch when they got called into his office. It was like a second home for them,” one fan joked.
Another fan laughed about the time they were compared to a literal family.
“My favorite was when fin told them “dads mad,” the fan joked.
“He gives them out instead of Christmas bonuses,” another fan joked about the “get out of jail free” cards.
A lot has changed since those days. For one, Elliot Stabler is no longer with the Special victims unit. Law & Order: SVU star Chris Meloni who plays Stabler, left the show after a contract dispute. Now, Cragen is also gone and Olivia has his job. Though, she spends way more time actually doing detective work.
Olivia and Elliot are the bread and butter of Law & Order: SVU. While they don’t always do the right thing, fans still really love them. But there are some characters on Law & Order: SVU that are a bit less lovable to fans.
Fans of ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Really Don’t Like this One Character
Fans can’t stand Kim Rollins, who they feel gets worse every time they see her. She’s definitely an antagonist and has done some horrible things to Law & Order: SVU main character Amanda Rollins. And things keep getting worse.
Fans discussed Kim Rollins in a Reddit thread but noted the actress that plays her, Lindsey Pulsipher, pulls off the antagonistic sister incredibly.
While Kim has done awful things, she’s also been through a lot of awful things. She was in an abusive relationship and struggles with substance abuse. In one episode, she steals everything she can keep her hands on in her older sister’s apartment before skipping town.
However, Kim gets rattled enough that she decides to get sober and serve the time she needs to in prison. It would be pretty strange if this was the last we’ve seen of her. As long as Amanda Rollins is around, Kim Rollins can come out of the shadows at any time.
If you want to catch the next episode of Law & Order: SVU, tune in for the last one before the holidays on December 9th at 9/8 central. After that, you can catch Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson working together on Law & Order: Organized Crime.
