Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay dazzles fans with some new photos from a beautiful day out on the town. The actress, who lives in New York, posted the pictures from the New York Botanical garden.
“Magic of @nybotanicalgarden and God. Not in that order,” the actress wrote.
Hargitay also posted an adorable photo with her husband from the gardens. The two clearly enjoyed their time together. Hargitay and her husband, peter Hermann, met on the set of Law & Order: SVU.
Hermann made a guest appearance on Law & Order: SVU in 2002. They were married by 2004. The couple now has three kids together.
Hargitay has been playing Olivia Benson in Law & Order: SVU since 1999. The actress has broken records with how long she’s played the role, and her current enthusiasm for the show is truly infectious. It’s also nice to get to see the quiet moments where the actress tours around her home city.
Mariska Hargitay Recently Celebrated a Major ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Milestone
Hargitay recently rang in a major milestone with Law & Order: SVU with episode 500. It’s an incredible feat for a show, and it’s certaintly cause for pride. But the law & Order: SVU star admitted that she didn’t actually want to watch the 500th episode.
“Obviously, I’ve been doing this show for so long and Olivia Benson is in me, but I think that the idea of the 500th episode was so much pressure or something on me. And I was so nervous coming to work this day,” she told Kelly Rippa and Ryan Secrest in a recent interview.
She was so nervous about the pressure in the new episode that when production sent her the link, she didn’t watch it at all.
“They sent me the link so many times and I was actually too nervous to watch it,” she said.
In the new episode, Olivia Benson is at the forefront. Told through plenty of flashbacks, the episode follows Olivia as she tries to solve a case that re-unites her with her “first love”, Burton Lowe, who is now a crime writer. But she soon discovers that Burton Lowe had displayed plenty of predatory behavior towards young women, herself included.
The episode was incredibly emotionally tough on Olivia, and was an incredibly powerful one that took a deep look on the character and her past. It makes sense that the 500th episode focused so intently on Olivia. What is Law & Order: SVU without her?
If you want to catch Mariska Hargitay on Law & Order: SVU the show airs every thursday night on NBC at 9/8 central.
