We’ve all seen the headlines and we all know it to be true: money, power, and fame can sadly change a person. That being said, we’ve also seen the flip side of that. The stars who never sell their souls, the stars that don’t just preach grounded-ness but practice it too. If you ask me, Outsiders, three names come to mind. There’s Henry Winkler (“Happy Days”), Keanu Reeves (“John Wick”), and Mariska Hargitay (Law & Order: SVU). Now, I’ve never met them, but can you imagine a project starring all three? You only ever hear the stories about their big hearts and overall humility. And I don’t know about you, but that’s what I look for in a role model.
Heck, you might even add Neil Patrick Harris to that list. It should come as no surprise, then, that Neil Patrick Harris and “Law & Order: SVU” queen Mariska Hargitay actually share a friendship. Hargitay recently showed off that friendship with an Instagram snap of a beautiful Christmas gift that she got from the star. It’s quite honestly too cute not to share.
‘Law & Order: SVU’ Star Mariska Hargitay Says The Gift Brings Her ‘Holiday Joy’
Here’s the personalized gift from Neil Patrick Harris that Mariska Hargitay says brings her “holiday joy.” AKA the fanciest gingerbread house you’ve ever laid your eyes upon. I mean look at the level of detail on that thing!
The adorable little house features each of the names of Hargitay’s family members including her husband, Peter, and their three children August, Andrew, and Amaya. Most of the fans can’t get enough of the present or their friendship and gush about it in the comments.
One fan (@themeghanwalsh), however, left Hargitay a more emotional message writing:
“I’m kind of a Scrooge when it comes to the holidays. Shorter days, seasonal depression, ya know. But your holiday posts always make me happy and give me some joy, even if only briefly. Thank you to you and your family for always decking the halls each year and making me smile. 💕”
Neil Patrick Harris and his family are known to go all-out for holidays, too, but especially when it comes to Halloween.
How Did Their Families Actually Meet?
Neil Patrick Harris answered that question during an interview with AV Club earlier this year.
“We have two kids that are similar in age, and we met — I think — in Puerto Rico at an event that [Chef] Jose Andres was doing,” recalled the former “How I Met Your Mother” actor.
“Their family was there and our family was there and our kids were all playing together,” he continued.
“And their kids are so lovely and well-behaved.”
