‘Law & Order: SVU’ Star Mariska Hargitay Says Show Is ‘Going To Make a Splash Tonight’ with Fitting Video

by Joe Rutland

Ahead of Thursday night’s new episode, “Law & Order: SVU” star Mariska Hargitay sent a message along with a video to fans.

Hargitay, who plays Captain Olivia Benson on the NBC drama, shared this video on her Instagram account.

Take a look, Outsiders, and get ready for a new episode with Hargitay and Ice-T, who plays Odafin “Fin” Tutuola, on board.

Obviously, Hargitay and Ice-T have been on the Dick Wolf-created show longer than any other cast member.

But “Law & Order: SVU” fans know that strong storylines and a solid cast can make this show hum.

It was the first “Law & Order” spin-off from the very successful franchise. The show continues to set records on NBC. In fact, “SVU” is among television’s elite when it comes to the number of scripted episodes for a primetime series.

This show is in fourth place behind “The Simpsons,” “Gunsmoke,” and “Lassie” among all-time television series. Outsiders may be scratching their heads about a show that has a daring collie as its star. Well, “Lassie” made a sweet buck or three during its time on TV.

Anyway, tune in to “Law & Order: SVU” on Thursday nights. If you are looking for reruns from past seasons, then you can check them out on USA Network.

‘Law & Order: SVU’ Episode Will Test Level of Trust Between Benson, Stabler

Well, we know “SVU” fans that you are itching for some type of action between Benson and Elliot Stabler, played by Christopher Meloni.

In case you have been living under a rock, then you know Meloni returned to the “Law & Order” franchise in “Organized Crime” last season.

But longtime fans know that there’s been a sense of energy between both characters for a long, long time.

A “Law & Order: SVU” episode, though, tests that trust between both characters.

In a clip from the show, Rollins and Benson debate Stabler’s motivations after a case involving SVU, Organized Crime, and FBI goes south.

Carisi is prepping to hit the grand jury with a solid case against serial rapist Gabe Navarro. Navarro assaulted women at his nightclub. Now he has ties to people that both the FBI and Organized Crime units have been searching for these days.

All these departments get involved. It does put the SVU’s desire to prosecute Navarro right on the line.

So, what happens? Stabler shoots Navarro during a raid. He told Benson that he acted on instinct. But SVU officers are ticked as they find out Navarro was taken away by U.S. Marshals and put into witness protection.

It’s all part of the action that keeps viewers tuned in all these seasons. Outsiders, tune in to see Hargitay and her cast members.
