‘Law & Order: SVU’ Reveals How the Head of Makeup Created Grisly Swollen Face

by Joe Rutland

When “Law & Order: SVU” characters show up with different looks, then you know a makeup artist did some powerful work.

That’s the case as the show’s Twitter account lets us see how the head of makeup created a grisly, swollen face for an episode.

Take a look for yourself.

It’s a pretty realistic view of one character truly getting beat up and left to deal with his injuries.

“Law & Order: SVU” is one show that’s known for its real-life look at traumatic events. Whether it’s people getting beat up or different types of assault, the show addresses these situations over and over again.

Mariska Hargitay, who plays Captain Olivia Benson, has been a vocal advocate for sexual assault victims away from the show. The actress is known to take a stand and address different things that happen to women.

As a star of one of Dick Wolf’s major shows, Hargitay has received letters over the years about cases on “SVU.”

Hargitay, Ice-T, and the rest of “Law & Order: SVU” are in the middle of Season 23 on NBC. It airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. Eastern, 8 p.m. Central. “Law & Order: Organized Crime” starring Christopher Meloni is in the middle of its second season.

‘Law & Order: SVU’ Creator Says ‘Anticipation’ Is Key To Possible Benson-Stabler Romance

People who have watched “Law & Order: SVU” forever already know that Benson and Stabler allegedly have had the hots for one another.

It’s just too obvious for longtime viewers and so much teasing about a Stabler-Benson relationship has taken place.

OK, so both of them have spent time on “SVU” and “Organized Crime.”

Can you, Outsiders, say anticipation? Well, franchise creator and executive producer Dick Wolf sure is right now.

Wolf seems to have it all under control. Remember, though, there are so many emotions roaring between those two and the fans themselves.

Stabler recently handed Benson a letter where he pours out his complicated feelings toward her.

“I don’t anticipate them running off and living together as much as the audience would like that,” Wolf said. “Anticipation is the most exciting part of most relationships… the chase is always better.”

Giddish, who plays Rollins, spills the beans on this with Smashing Interviews Magazine.

“Oh, Mariska, by far!” Giddish said. “Oh, God. She’s a ball of energy.”
