Law & Order: SVU icon Ice-T shared the humorous secret to his success as a father. The actor has two daughters and one son. His first daughter, LeTesha Marrow, was born in 1976, while his son Ice Tracy Marrow Jr. was born in 1991. His youngest daughter, Chanel, was born to Ice-T and his wife Coco Austin in 2015.
The SVU star shared a photo of a gorilla with text reading: “being a dad is mostly about being grumpy and knowing things.” Ice-T captioned the post “ICE COLD fact.”
Additionally, Ice-T frequently shares “dad content” on social media. This ranges from jokes to actual life advice. For example, earlier this year, the actor tweeted “you can f— your whole life up by having close friends who have no goals and aspirations in life.”
The SVU actor also shared his advice on how to stay out of trouble:
“Smart people learn from others’ experiences. So when someone’s giving you some game like you’re giving him, you gotta take it. If you tell me ‘Ice don’t go on that side of town, they’re shooting,’ I’m going to be like ‘I ain’t going to go over there. My man told me they’re shooting.’ I ain’t going to be like ‘Ellis don’t know.’ You gotta listen to warnings.”
Law & Order: SVU’s Ice-T Talks Settling Down With Coco Austin
Recently, Ice-T shared his wedding anniversary with wife Coco Austin. The rapper and actor unpacked why his relationship with Austin remains strong after 21 years together. For Ice-T, it all comes down to communication.
“I couldn’t have picked a better partner,” Ice-T says of his wife. “She pulls her weight and kills it in every department. We address problems quickly. She doesn’t say, ‘I’m mad at you from last month.’ How am I supposed to fix something if I didn’t know it was broken? And we compromise. If you want to win every argument and do whatever you want to do, there’s a name for that — it’s called being single!”
As for how Ice-T met and fell in love with Coco, the SVU star was realistic about what first drew him to the model as well as why he chose to marry her.
“There was an instant physical attraction, but I was at a point in my life where I was ready to slow down,” said Ice-T. “I wanted a partner. I wasn’t in a position to be dating a beautiful psychopath. We started to talk, and I found out she was just a really sweet girl. I applied the stereotype that everyone does to Coco – that she just wanted to party and have a good time. But she was just an honest and giving woman. She’s the nicest person, man or woman, I’ve ever met.”
